I'd suspect Riley ends up back in Corvallis.
But Frost will be the early favorite in Lincoln.
Riley is Oregon State through-and-through, but it looks like they're going with Beau Baldwin, former Eastern Washington (FCS power) head coach and current Cal OC. I could definitely see Riley in Corvallis in a role with the athletic department.
Him going to NEB never made sense IMO. He had a comfy life in Oregon. He coulda rode that out forever. NEB hasn't been relevant in almost 2 decades. However, they still think they're hot stuff. A bad combination

I never understood that move by either party. He was revered by Beaver fans by winning 7 games a year, and he stood no chance of success at Nebraska.

Just announced the chip Kelly did except the UCLA job. As Dan on the radio just reminded me Chip Kelly's first Game as the head coach of UCLA is against the Cincinnati Bearcats. I cannot wait to see our secondary against that offense

So I guess they're now formally in the Frost sweepstakes.

They actually mentioned Frost at the termination presser. Never heard that before while a season was going on.

Damn. The P5 doesn't even try to hide their contempt for the G5 anymore. I'm surprised players are even allowed to choose to attend a G5 school if given a walk on offer at a P5 anymore.
Our coaches are essentially a commodity for them now.

To be fair, he also mentioned, Matt Campbell, of Iowa State.
When you're a rich school like Nebraska, you don't concern yourself with respect for others.
No different than regular life, I suppose.

Eh... My ex-in-laws are all Husker fans. Husker fans are a different breed. Different even than Bucknuts. They quite literally believe the universe revolves around Lincoln and good Huskers (including Lawrence Phillips and Christian Peter) can do no wrong and those who let the Huskers down are beyond redemption (like Frank Solich).
I'm sure they see nothing wrong or inappropriate about mentioning coaches that are still on-the-job.

RE: Coaching Carousel 2018...
Todd Graham out at Arizona State...that makes 8 P5 openings already (UCLA, Florida, Tennessee, Nebraska, Oregon State, Arizona State, Arkansas, Texas A&M) with probably 2 more coming (Kansas and Texas Tech) and 3 more possibilities (Rutgers, North Carolina, and BYU) then the eventual shuffling. This is going to be a crazy off-season.

UCLA seems already filled with Chip Kelly. BTW, BYU ain't P5.

That was more of a perspective of the openings, not what has already been filled (Oregon State is all but filled already too).
I would consider BYU to be a step below AND but we'll above Navy/Army in the independents.

Texas Tech A.D. already announced he's coming back next year. Winning the other night to get to 6-6 saved his job

Sounds like Tenn & UF are doing the dance of love for, Dan Mullen. If Tenn misses on him, than Greg S is the top candidate.
No clue how he gets a job like Tenn after being a DC at OSU. He has never been impressive to me as a HC.
Also, Dan Mullen has to be a disappointment a bit.

Totally agree re: Schiano. He had a total of one good season at Rutgers and never even shared a BE title. Had a reputation as a good recruiter but a poor gameday coach. He had a .500 overall and 28-48 conference record at Rutgers. The fact he's a legit candidate at a school like Tennessee must be a reflection of the lack of high end coaching prospects relative to the amount of openings this year.

I love how an under .500 record in five seasons is good enough for Texas Tech but Arizona State fired a guy who was 15 seconds above .500 in the same span.
