Then there's that. It didn't stop Urban from hiring him. IMO, Tennessee can do better than Schiano. The AD appears to be in panic mode.

Schiano is the type of hire an Akron or Kent State makes.

Yeah... if this guy really is an abomination, why haven't OSU fans complained? My jaded answer is that they see OSU's success as more important than protecting little boys from being diddled.

A more likely answer is that the vast majority of OSU fans have little knowledge of the nuts and bolts of their program. If it's positive news and has that block O logo, it gets shared straight to Facebook. If it's a shirt that says "Ohio State," it goes straight into the shopping cart.

Based on some things I've heard that has gone on with other sports at tO$U and was subsequently covered up by their administration, your answer isn't jaded at all.

Judging from O$U's performance this year, Shiano doesn't appear to be an exceptional D Coordinator, either. Can't believe this is UT's hire, though I will enjoy the backlash tremendously.

The deal is off in light of the public backlash. The AD is a moron. He should be fired. Nobody should ever consider Schiano as a Head Coach after his being involvement in the PSU coverup.The fans and politicians were right to speak out.

And then Tennessee appeared to settle on Schiano, a retread coach who’s also been named in documents as allegedly having known about Jerry Sandusky’s child abuse while both were Penn State assistants. When news broke in 2016, Schiano denied having any knowledge of abuse while a coach at Penn State.

Congrats to Tennessee boosters for doing the right thing. They definitely have to question their administration how it came this close to hiring Schiano.
