Loses in those two games are a foregone conclusion. Question is, will we be able to score a TD in either game?

I just threw up in my mouth. How in the freak did we get here? It is beyond belief that we could not only fall off, but for it to be a total fiasco. It's not just losing, we will have disappointing seasons, it's the complete ridiculousness of getting blown out constantly.

Maybe it's better that the wheels completely come off. Then there can be no debate or excuse.

I guess. Hate the fact that recruiting will most likely take a hit with a new coach coming in. Then installing a new system and having guys transfer out etc. Re building a program is a process that sometimes takes time, but I guess we can get excited about that process.

Fortunately, we don't have that many seniors finishing this season, and college football players just don't transfer at the rate of basketball players. Most have already sat for one redshirt year as it is.

There will ALWAYS be an excuse... I'm dead serious on this... Every fricking year: there is ALWAYS an excuse.

You're already hearing them:
-We're at a recruiting disadvantage.
-The "red-shirt" class is AMAZING...all we need is another year.
-The "fans" are killing the morale of the team with their booing.
...and the ever present...
-Injuries.

Mark my words...there will be excuses...and a sacrificial lamb...offered up for sacrifice. I'm guessing we (at least) start next season with "Head Coach Tommy Tuberville" at the helm.

If not this year, than it will never change. This is the second year in a row of a total collapse. The team is not even listening to him. Yesterday, on the way off the field, TT was screaming at Fitz and others to hustle off the field and Fitz didn't speed up one bit. The dude is a carpet bagger and the team has figured it out. If they hold onto him another year, the atmosphere will be caustic from day one.

He was yelling at Davin Pierce too, and he just walked away and wouldn't look at him. He has completely lost the team. This is irretrievable.

RE: What are the odds
Everything in my rational thought process says The Walking Dead Coach is let go after 12/7/16. I already have my "Drubberville Put Out To Pasture" t-shirt ready. But...there is this one thing that keeps hanging around in the back of my mind - the nightmare that he actually survives to stick around for one more season. The cause of this apprehension is the all-elusive, evasive and subdued....

90% he's gone.

The buyout is nothing. They'll wait until it drops, buy him out, and move on.

It's clear he's losing fans, and admin support. However, i have frat brothers on the team. He has NOT lost the players. Nevertheless, he's outta here

In fact there is a large number of frosh, rs frosh and sophs on the roster. No idea how good, bad, or indifferent any are. I repeat my question - will/can this staff coach them up, and can they provide schemes that will allow them to be successful? Honest answer to that will structure whether any or all this staff should be invited back.

Curious if they have any more insight that you'd be able/willing to share without getting anyone in trouble?

I haven't counted the numbers, but it does seem to be a good point that there are a large number of young players on the roster. That's a big part of why I think this can be turned around fairly quickly (e.g. next year). Now whether this is the staff to do it is another question. I think your thoughts about coaching them up and providing the right schemes should inform the final decision on the future of this staff, but I kind of doubt it will be the driver over W/L and $.

I was looking at this the other day on espn's site. Our breakdown shows about 100 guys on the roster, between 60 and 70 of them are soph.'s or younger in eligibility.

i think this shows the cupboard is not bare and that means if we get the right coach and staff in here they could be good, like, next year.

Farther we get from Butch's guys, the more bad MAC East we are.

We need a young hungry coach who is willing to do burn the midnight oil to win and get promoted to the P5. We also need one who hires coaches with Ohio recruiting ties and works it.

RE: What are the odds
Most people regard Mark Dantonio as part of the process that made UC but in reality his resume here was a lot worse than Tuberville. It took Kelly to put those pieces in the right spot before the winning really started. I think UC is in the same place right now as they were in 2004 through 2006.

Under Dantonio (18-17) here are all of the losses.
2004: 27-6 Ohio State, 19-7 Syracuse, 30-27 UAB, 48-29 Army (broke Army's long losing streak), 70-7 Louisville
2005: 42-24 Penn State, 44-16 Miami Ohio. 38-20 Pitt, 46-22 Louisville, 38-0 WVU, 31-16 USF, 44-9 Rutgers (Can't forget that 28-26 win EMU or 7-3 win over Western Carolina)
2006: 33-15 Pitt, 37-7 Ohio State, 29-13 Virginia Tech, 24-17 Louisville, 42-24 WVU

It wasn't until the middle of 2006 before the program started to show signs of life. The losses outside of a close game at Louisville in 2006 were really ugly. Those teams were very young on both sides of the ball. The offense in 2005 was awful and the 2006 version was slightly better.

I have hope that a new staff would have a quick turnaround where UC is in the hunt for a conference championship each year.. Heck I actually believe the current staff could turn this around to 7 wins next year if UC gets lucky.

The only scary thing about the 2004-2006 time range and the Tuberville era is that we now have clear evidence that UC without the power five label isn't very good. Kelly and Jones were in the Big East and never had to coach or recruit to UC outside of the power structure.

RE: What are the odds
I agree. However that supposition relies on the hope that head coach snuffy and the B-Listers he brought in to work under him have adequately identified and acquired young talent the last 4 signing days. I have my questions at several positions regarding that hope.
