What are the odds
that we s-can TT. I give 60-40 against in consideration of Bohn's remarks. I am officially rooting for embarrassing losses the rest of the way. It is the only way to move forward.

RE: What are the odds
He's gone-- 90%

He's lost the fan base, he's lost the team, we can't recruit, the OC hire was a mistake and they would have to make a new hire at that position anyway (good luck with that if you keep Tubs in place), the off field snark at the fans, etc.

RE: What are the odds
He will coach the remainder of his contract due to the high $$ amount attached to the buyout.

RE: What are the odds
I'd say 75% chance he is gone. He has lost the fans, teams and donors. The buyout is pricy, but he has a big contract and eating him now and bringing in a replacement at even 1.5M will pay the difference quickly and may energize the fans and donors. With the club renewals coming up after next season, they need to try and get back on track or risk losing a lot of those tickets.

RE: What are the odds
95%... the buyout is reasonable and results are indefensible. The only reason I give 5% is the chance that Bohn is in completely over his head. If Tuberville's not bought out, the administration needs to look for a new AD well.

RE: What are the odds
It's 99%+. $1.5 million is a small price compared to the mass exodus of donors/ticket holders that retaining him would cost the university

I just don't trust Bohn to do the right thing. No real reason, just a gut feeling. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I'd say 50-50

Btw whatever happened to banning/suspension for talking bad about TT? Are even the admins sick and tired of him too?

Bohn isn't going to hesitate... if he doesn't send him packing the BOT and the donors will come down on him swiftly and he will find himself without a job.

Bohn may be a bit of a goofball but he is not entirely stupid. He has no loyalty to Tuberville... he didn't hire him (Whit Babcock did)... he didn't extend his contract (Dr. Ono did)... I've seen no statement by him indicating Tubs will be coaching the Bearcats next season (as asinine as his comments were last week, there was nothing in it that made me think Coach Tuberville's job is safe)...

To whom does Bohn answer, the (Interim) President, the Board of Trustees, or some other person or entity?

We force TT's departure by leaning on Bohn, and if he doesn't take care of business, we continue up the chain of command until somebody does. What we need is a temporary repeal of the law of gravity, a situation in which sh!t rolls uphill for a while before rolling back down.

TT's $1.5 million buyout at the end of the year would be a trifle compared with the potential loss of program revenues from fan revolt and the continuing outlay for his salary if he is allowed to stay.

This.

50-50 at best, IMO.

Bohn's defense...not just inaction, but DEFENSE...of Tuberville's record and behavior make me think that Tuberville will not be fired.

But I am willing to give Bohn the benefit of the doubt.

Exactly my thoughts as well. I am hoping to get a better read on the situation at tonight's town hall.

Bolded above is my take too. Four wins alone might not have been his undoing but the atmosphere around the program seems toxic and will necessitate a housecleaning. The only reason to retain him would be the expectation of a turnaround next season. I haven't spoken with anyone who believes that's possible.

RE: What are the odds
I put it as somewhere between 25% and 50% that we actually fire him. I'm under the impression the Bohn either doesn't care enough or actually likes Tuberville too much to fire him. I hope I'm wrong but I have little faith left in Bohn after his defense of Tubs.

This. I don't trust a lot of the suits at UC right now.

RE: What are the odds
Maybe this was answered in another thread and I missed it, but have we reached any consensus on: (1) why Bohn extended Tuberville's contract, and (2) did the extension increase or decrease the cost of firing Tuberville after Dec. 7 as compared to the old contract?
