I'm done.
Not much more to it than that. I'll always blame Shelby Thames, and General Hammond for what USM is now: absolutely nothing but a speedbump for people on their way to Alabama. I'm no longer willing to associate myself with an institution that refuses to even take the most basic of actions in its own self interest. I'll probably always be an observer, as I am for UGA and LSU, but my goal for USM going forward is 0 wins. After this, there is no hope.

Of all the things I won't miss about USM, I won't miss this mouth-breather normal school conference the most.

Dude, get lost. Seriously. If I actually thought you gave a **** about USM, or actually did anything meaningful to help support the university, I would probably try to talk you off the ledge.
But the fact that 75% of your post were negative, you likely never gave a penny to the university, haven't attended a game maybe ever, and can so easily change who you cheer for, clearly indicates that you were never part of the solution for Southern Miss.
Do us all a favor and leave sooner rather than later.

thank God you aren't overreacting, or anything. dude, srsly, other than maybe 40 or so jobs in ncaa football, everything is a speed bump to someplace else. it's just an artifact of the current unsatisfactory state of college football.
personally, I choose to blame espn.

Where were you when we had a chance to do something good? Were you at the 2002 Houston Bowl? The '03 TCU game? Cal in '04? The "Go to Hell, U of L" game when Corso and Herbstreit were at MM Roberts? Are you personally thanked in the gameday program? I banged the drum for USM for decades. People thought I was foolish. In hindsight I agree. Nothing good will ever come out of Hattiesburg, MS again.

My experience with fans and women is if they take the time to say they are done, they aren't done. When they are done all you hear is silence. Which is generally a good thing.

you left out how much money you contribute to the athletic program, and how we will collapse without your money. one of these threads is never complete without that.
and while losing our coach two weeks from national signing day was embarrassing, it's not half as embarrassing as this thread is right now. it would be awesome if you weren't doing this in public. most of the rest of us didn't.

Well, they didn't put my name in the program because of my work with disabled youngsters or whatever.

Good grief. You know how many schools can only wish their head coach was in the running for an NFL OC position?
Go if you must.

RE: I'm done.
The dude is one step away from being a NFL head coach now.....
The only beef I have is that the timing couldn't have been worse.
If you blame him for going from Southern Miss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers you're a delusional idiot.

Yes I was there. I've missed 4 homes games in the last 25 years, and haven't missed a bowl game in the same amount of time. 8 football season tickets, 4 basketball, 8 baseball, Eagle Club donor, Hardwood and Dugout club, Lifetime alumni association member. I could continue, but it goes to deep and I don't feel like getting that personal on here.
Don't question my support for my University.
And don't get mad when someone questions your support when you start a thread saying I'm done.

I call BS on you being at the 2002 Houston Bowl. There were literally a few dozen USM fans there. It was thoroughly humiliating, though the team played with a very good P5 team for about 3.5 quarters.

Vs Okie St, at the new Reliant Stadium. Nothing but Orange in the Stadium. Maybe 1,000 USM fans, me and my buddy were 2 of them. We had the lead by 3 going into the fourth quarter, and then got dominated in the 4th. Very frustrating. Got a speeding ticket driving home to Hattiesburg.

Wow your claim to fandom is a bowl game. Ive missed one game at the rock since 1980. Have season tickets in multiple sports. They did used to put 100 ec members in the program long ago.
Finding that you ever game one red cent is a shock. All ive seen yo do is *****. If you cant support then shut up. If you cant support your school through the good and bad then go away.
