Whoever is in charge of the water should be living in the community that drinks the water. Snyder had zero business appointing a czar to run a cities water dept. and if he did he better make damn sure events like this never had a way of happening.

Except he didn't appoint a czar to run the water dept. He appointed somebody to help get their finances straight. It was the city that decided that was a good place to cut cost.

Cute post BIE. What your pic isn't is any link or fact that Snuyder's appointee didn't direct the water to be taken from the river. Rant or no rant Snyder's appointee is guilty of the transgression. If you have any proof otherwise I would like to see it.

My picture is as useful as your straw man battle... The next time a dem appointee screws up I look forward to this level of bile from you. I don't expect it but I look forward to it.

I said, earlier and quite clearly, that a resignation or impeachment might be called for if it can be shown that corners were cut in testing or treating the water. If you can show Malice it might even be worth prosecuting.

But what you have right now is a bad decision. And not even a bad decision by the Governor one by an appointee. Clearly an investigation is called for, not someones head (just yet).

BIE.

That is a leveled and reasoned response. These are the type of posts when I listen to my better nature I try to emulate. I far too often fail in that endeavor.

Who gets the prison time for this one?

And this one? Think maybe FDR children need to pay for this.

So if the investigation shows that reasonable testing and precautions were taken but failed we can stop calling people evil bastards here?

People should be out in the streets demanding that the governor resign. I mean to jeopardize the lives of children just to cut a little spending, give me a break. I'm all for balancing a budget and limiting spending, but c'mon man. Disgusting.

1 - Maddow is as capable of doing "a balanced piece" as Glenn Beck. I'll believe it when I see it.

2 - The bolded is the most level headed thing I have seen on this thread. All of these calls for his arrest and trial are stupid as ****. If he really did something like move the water supply without proper planning thus missing something as important as heavy metals in the water then he should be pressured to resign or be impeached.

3 - If, on the other hand, environmental studies were done and passed and this is an unforeseen result what we have here is an example of bad **** happens sometimes.

Well then go look it up. Should be floating around the internet somewhere. I'm not a fan of hers but I thought it was a good piece of journalism. I don't think the guy should be arrested but it does look like he knowingly dismissed reports that the conditions of the water in Flint were extremely bad. Its been a week or so since I've really delved into this topic, so I'm fuzzy on the details, but it really doesn't look good. This is a major issue and something needs to be done to remedy the situation and it needs to happen quick. Sitting around bashing people over their political ideology or party affiliation doesn't do anything for anyone. If anything it actually inhibits any meaningful discussion from happening. The governor could be a member of the Canadian Rhinoceros party for all I care, doesn't excuse his negligence.

Did I miss this point earlier, where Flint wanted to continue to use the Lake Huron water via Detroit, but Detroit cut it off?

And, Mach, do you understand the chemistry here? There is nothing wrong with the river water. The problem are all these old pipes.

should I have "gone"…

Everyone on this planet is using went for gone in everything they say.

C'mon guys, if a Mexican who spoke Spanish first knows this is wrong why can't you.

I wish the liberal media spent as much time on an Ambassador's murder as they are on the crappiest town in America's water.

The only reason for this is Both protecting Hillary, and blaming a Republican Governor. This is to get out the minority and Democrat voters in November because They are in deep doo doo ! 01-rivals04-jawdrop

What is the point of adding the qualifier "Republican" to the title except to just be a partisan? There were failures all over the place here, including by the feds in the EPA.

The original post is old, and was partisan, and was a lie.

The people who caused this issue were all democrats. Including those who lied and covered it up. This was a failure of epoch proportions by two democratic controlled cities in a tiff, and the regional EPA (democrats) and the federal EPA. (democrats)

At least the republican governor took action and had water fountains put in the buildings under his control. The democrats simply lied and covered it all up.
