So you admit that the chance of winning the lottery is higher than the chance of being injured if you DO have a gun?
I'm saying that I'm more likely to win the lottery than to have an intruder come into my house with a gun.
Statistically speaking, I think you are incorrect.
I doubt it seriously because I don't play the lottery.
So you are saying you have a 0% chance of an intruder coming into your home with a gun?

Which you said you didn't play. That makes your chance of winning exactly 0%.

Technically no because while I personally do not play the lottery, I have a grandmother that sometimes buys everyone tickets when the pot goes above several million dollars.

Which is about the same probability of an average toddler (not a drug dealer's kid) being shot with his parent's gun.

I have to say if Fit did have a gun in his house the probability of an accidental shooting occurring would be pretty high.

No. When I said what I said, I was saying it as a figure of speech. Which is to say that I think it is very unlikely that an armed gunman would ever enter my house.
Once again however, I overestimated the ability of people in this forum to recognize sarcasm.

He's suggesting that you are a halfwit, without outright saying it as to save his own ass from any potential modding that may happen.

By not allowing guns in my home, I have already made my home much safer than those that allow them. So that would make me much smarter than a "halfwit".

Safer? Debatable. Guns not locked up with the safety off or without a trigger lock is what is dangerous. There is pros and cons to everything.

Not really.
As you've noted, the probabilities are all very close to zero.
If you consider (making up numbers, but I'm probably not far off) 0.000000001 vs 0.000000002 as 'much' different, then I guess we can just agree to disagree. it IS 'twice as likely'.

Statistically speaking, guns make a home less safe.

Whats the crime rate for armed B&E where you live? Should be pretty easy to find to compare to your highly scientific "very unlikely" notion.

Overall yes, but you need to look at the crime rates for the specific crimes we are speaking about.
