Why?
We'll just hear the "we lost Austin in July. Pastner was left in a lurch. Just wait til next year when the Lawson's and Marshall have more experience..."
Rinse, repeat.
Whoever beats that drum has their head deeply buried in the sand and or knows nothing about basketball and lastly cares more about Josh than they do about Tiger hoops.
The Duke was my dad's favorite
How about "The Rappin' Duke"
Duh-huh duh-huh, duh huh huh huh huh huh.

No, he won't deserve it. He's been paid in advance for any such results over the next 2 seasons.
If they make the S16 or better he's simply catching up a this point.
i agree with this
I would be thrilled at making the Sweet 16 this year and especially if we do it 2 years in a row, but that's the deal here with a few of the weird posters we have here.
They hate Pastner so much that their focus would be on hating him, his salary and being bitter instead of enjoying the results.
Well we will have to agree to disagree. I don't believe there are posters here that hate Josh personally as a person. My thoughts as I have been reading this board for at least six years, is that several posters/fans that I know personally that attend games love the Tigers and like Josh as a person but dont like Josh as a head coach, especially our coach.
Those fans would love for him to succeed because they love the program and like him. If fans and posters say/claim they don't hate Josh...I think they should be believed because there's no way to know for sure that someone hates Josh simply by reading a posters comments on this board. I tend to think tiger fans have the ability to separate their feelings about Josh... Which is they don't think he's a good coach and don't think he's the right guy for the job here but hope the Tigers win.
Only an idiot would think fans hate Josh personally and that there is just a small contingent of the fan base that doesn't think he can get the job done at Memphis.

They don't think that. It's just their way of voicing displeasure over not being able to control the debate any more.
99.9% of us started out wanting things to work out for the best with this hire, mainly because of our disdain for the way the previous fellow left the building and the apparent night and day differences between the two. But you can only wish upon a star for so long, and then you have to come back down to reality.
I wish all the players well who have decided (or had it decided for them) to move on to other programs, and I'll do the same for the coach when he follows suit. And as highly as some people think of the young man, I'm not sure that feeling is going to be mutual.

I just don't understand the delusion that if someone isn't satisfied with Pastner then they hate him. Maybe they just don't like the results and would like some improvement.
You just seem irrationally angry.

No we aren't. Not yet, anyway. And keeping pastner for 2 more years after this year would absolutely decimate the basketball program.

Some of our fans hate him so much, that instead of being happy with two straight Sweet 16's, they feel that Pastner would "owe" it to us, somehow as part of repaying a debt.

It isn't irrational at all to think that your existence and the existence of a dozen or so other posters on this board is based almost exclusively on bitching about Pastner.

One of the funnier aspects when a cough...cough..."new" poster comes on board, is how they are always so laser focused on a couple of primitive concepts. You are somehow offended by what I said, yet...

He's referencing half the sentence that I wrote so he can try to make an asinine point, par for the course. I'm almost surprised Stammers derailed yet another thread.

LMAO, it is when you (as usual) only reference half of something and go on a tangent to try and prove your original point.
