RE: FIRE JP NOW
The money boys may have the funding but evidently they “Ain’t to Smart” if they inked a deal they cannot get out of. Sad.
Josh need to go ASAP/Now. Period. If not I'm done with Tiger basketball. And I'm not alone.

RE: FIRE JP NOW
Do some of you people really believe the money men would enter an agreement they couldn't exit with minimal pain? They didn't make their money by being stupid.
What may seem like a lot of money to you is pocket change to them.

Look, they're not stupid. They are business geniuses. But for some reason they setup this contract like they did. And the payout is chump change compared to their net worth, but $10M+ is real money folks. That's the situation where we find ourselves.

Are we sure it's $10m?n even if it is, again, these guys wouldn't have agreed to it if they couldn't pay it.

Yes. That's the money. Nothing I've seen or heard to make me think there's some other secret contract or buyout. Only thing short of that would be to negotiate something with Josh to leave early, but not sure what his motivation to leave that money on the table would be.

I apologize ... if there is something about a $5M payoff I'd like to see it.

There's no secret agreement but there are built in renewal dates that affect the terms and money owed.

I'm sure someone at the CA is digging deeper into the buyout to get the real facts.

Pastner has a $2.6 million per year guaranteed contract through the 2017-2018 season, he is due that money whether he is our coach or not.
If he were fired after this season, he would be due about $7.5 million. This is why it is very unlikely that he will be fired anytime soon. He was given the contract because the University wanted to keep him and they believed at the time that that was the minimum contract that it would take to keep him here.
He can buy his way out of the contract $600,000 if he leaves before April 6, 2015; and $500,000 if he leaves after April 7, 2015.
the CA received a copy of the contract and wrote about it

That's not a horrible buyout. I think he gets another season anyway but my goodness will the fan support be miserable next year.

Thanks ... I was a bit high on the $ but this was my understanding contractually. If this was the minimum to keep him we should've let him go. He's a good guy and hard worker, but he's not that exclusive or unique.

Anyone arguing now?
How many years of his contract are you personally gonna pick up the tab for?

People post these threads like Pastner reads this board. The WWJD thread was an extreme reach

Yes. This is an overly simplistic solution
We will return to greatness under coach pastner.
