Penn State is likely face either BC (Pinstripe) or Pitt (Detroit). My question is, which Big Ten bowl tier is PSU on?

Assuming there is still an NCAA rule that all teams with a winning record be picked before a 6-6 team. Penn State couldn't be picked until 9 the at least. According to the B1G bowl tiers, that would put them at the bottom tier and in line for Detroit. I am not sure about that NCAA rule or it's current application.

This is true. That more than anything concerning sports has bothered me, that Syracuse and Pitt left the BE and that league was destroyed because of it. I take solace in the the fact that if SU and Pitt didn't leave, then someone else would have taken their spots.
Seems to me that the Big East is alive and well. They are what their creator always intended them to be, a basketball league.
Feel sorry for UConn, Cincinnati, and to a lesser extent USF, but not the Big East basketball teams.
Cheers,
Neil
