Beaumont, TX is not considered a part of the Houston CSA and a CSA is as broad as you can possibly define one metro area. Nice try. Wide right.

Never said that Beaumont was part of the Houston CSA, but it is adjacent to it bordering two of the Houston MSA eastern counties, Liberty and Chambers counties. The two MSA's are contiguous. There is no separation.

Even so, there are some demographers that think the two should be combined. The main reason the two are not is that Houston area growth has been to the west and north, but is starting to the east. Numerous residental developments are opening up east of Baytown (less than 45 minutes from downtown Beaumont).

It is 110 miles from my house to Beaumont. All but 18 miles of that are in the Houston MSA.

By the way, have you seen my GSU market map?

I don't see the area for Statesboro in there....I know there's no way you'd even try to claim it.

RE: my new calculations
You guys are extremely creative at twisted up people post then attacking them.
TV and radio do not recognize city limits or msa limits. Beaumont tv and radio reaches all of southeast Texas -700,000 and southwest Louisiana -300,000. The same goes for Houston 6.5 million msa and areas outside msa but shares Houston tv and radio -500,000. Lets do the math
700,000 + 300,000 + 6,500,000 + 500,000 = 8,000,000. I live 2 months in SW Louisiana and watch Lamar MMB. I watch Lamar MMB at my sister House in Katy, a Houston suburb on the west side.or
Lamar will not surpass the Texans or Rockets or UH sports, but it would bring a sbc presences to Houston and Beaumont. Families of sbc recruits won't have to travel 200 miles to Lafayette or San Marcos when Lamar is a hour drive. Houston is bigger than Louisiana, Arkansas, and Alabama. Houston is like a state within sbc footprint. Lamar helps get the sbc a presence in that state.

And yet you have misconstrued and twisted everything I've said in this thread... Go figure.

I respected your school and all the other sbc schools. I didn't make your school a joke and link clown pictures to any sbc school. Yet open season on disrespecting Lamar.

If you can't find humor in small things then you were looking to be offended. If you changed your mindset then perhaps you could see it differently.

Why just not make jokes about other peoples' school. It is easy to shrug this off as nothing when you are not the butt of the joke.

Yet, Lamar can't help themselves. Low budget, poor football, basketball is down, poor facilities and poor attendance. Yep, Lamar can deliver several neiborhoods in Beaumont and the local public access tv station!
