After this weeks upsets of FBS by FCS schools, Towson whipping Connecticut, McNeese State dominating South Florida. North Dakota State beating Kansas State and Eastern Washington over Oregon State to name a few; has anyone's opinion changed on the gap between top FCS and lower FBS teams?

No one said FCS teams couldn't compete on a one game basis. It's the season-long grind we've talked about. FCS teams can compete with some FBS teams, especially week 1, as we saw. Thanks for starting ANOTHER thread on FCS on our board. This might end up getting merged with the others.

No one said FCS teams couldn't compete on a one game basis. It's the season-long grind we've talked about. FCS teams can compete with some FBS teams, especially week 1, as we saw. Thanks for starting ANOTHER thread on FCS on our board. This might end up getting merged with the others.

Wasn't trying to start anything but an intelligent conversation of perhaps how the gap might have narrowed between the tow divisions. Sorry if I offended anyone.

McNeese was the most impressive to me. I realize that Oregon State was ranked, but to absolutely dominate on both sides of the ball like they did against USF is unbelievable.

Eastern Washington is a close second.

The problem with your argument my good Jaguar is that it can't be proven. There is no way to know if a high quality FCS team could manage a low level FBS schedule, because they don't play one. It is all an assumption on your part. The relative success of the FCS this weekend however is a fact. A better argument on your behalf is that most of these games are still won by the FBS teams. I don't think anyone can deny though that high level FCS teams can compete and win a significant amount of contests against lower level FBS. The facts bear that out.

A thread about FCS teams beating FBS teams has got your panties in a wad? Some of you need thicker skin. It was a question to start a discussion. Nothing more nothing less.

he's now at mcneese.

you think he mighta known how to gameplan for willie's offense? a usf team that might not have the makeup to run the harbaugh version of the west coast offense.

As a recent FCS move up, I was always right there with Georgia Southern and App State fans about the strength of some FCS teams. With that said, this weekend was one for the ages and one that likely won't be repeated probably ever. Any FBS team who schedules NDSU or top any 20 FCS team should fire whomever is in charge of scheduling.
On that note, kudos to the Texas State AD for scheduling Prairie View A&M for our FCS opponent. The panthers are a better than average HBCU team, but we should still win by several touchdowns. Next year we scheduled an Arkansas HBCU to come to San Marcos. See that's how you do it. We could schedule a Sam Houston or McNeese State, but we know better.

Umm Yes they are albeit not recently. I honestly did not read this entire board to see there were other threads concerning the upsets. It is being talked about on every sports related venue I know of so just pardon the hell out of me. And maybe some of us are TIRED of hearing some of the other beating a dead horse threads too. But, I doubt you telling me or me telling you that is going to change anything.

Considering we are a top 50 program according to recent rankings and haven't lost to an FCS team since 2001...including victories over two ranked FCS squads since then, I'm not terribly worried.

I think the frustration is that a select few Georgia Southern fans have been using these results to almost taunt us. Realistically you guys have to understand that North Dakota State beating Kansas State has nothing to do with the Sun Belt...
