Considering we are a top 50 program according to recent rankings and haven't lost to an FCS team since 2001...including victories over two ranked FCS squads since then, I'm not terribly worried.

I think the frustration is that a select few Georgia Southern fans have been using these results to almost taunt us. Realistically you guys have to understand that North Dakota State beating Kansas State has nothing to do with the Sun Belt...

I understand but lumping every Georgia Southern poster together is called prejudice and as we all know it is just plain wrong. If a poster has offended you then you should at least know who it is.

The majority of this board does not give two ***** about FCS ball.

Several new members have yet to cut the FCS cord, which is fine, FCS is all you've ever known, but take it to your home board or AGS or if you are hell bent on discussing it here, take it to the OT board where it belongs.

It's quite interesting to see the huge disparity of responses to that thread started by a stAte fan vs the thread about the exact same topic started by a Ga Southern fan. Not one bash or "shut up and take it back to AGS" comment on the thread at all. Just simply a good, football related discussion and updates about the other FCS games.

The problem with your argument my good Jaguar is that it can't be proven. There is no way to know if a high quality FCS team could manage a low level FBS schedule, because they don't play one. It is all an assumption on your part. The relative success of the FCS this weekend however is a fact. A better argument on your behalf is that most of these games are still won by the FBS teams. I don't think anyone can deny though that high level FCS teams can compete and win a significant amount of contests against lower level FBS. The facts bear that out.

No, it will never be able to be proven as fact, but one can look at the overall history of FCS/FBS games and say with relative certainty that FCS schools would not fare well.

Take a look at any FCS school you want, look at their last 20 years of playing FBS schools and tell me their record. I'd wager nearly all of them will have maybe 2 wins out of 20.

The FBS/FCS gap has been a contentious point on this board for some time now, whether intended or not, starting yet another FCS thread, to ask this question will come off as snarky or **** stirring.

Seriously, I'd bet there have been as many FCS threads in the last few days as there were all of last season, maybe the last few seasons combined.

Yes really shocked by that game. McNeese has a history orf pulling these off now and then.

They have a history of knocking off the lower tier 1-A schools This is by far their biggest win and domination at that.

If I want to keep up with how FCS schools are faring, I will go to the AGS Board. I do not go to the AGS Board for a reason . . I do not care about any FCS school.

It is like some of our posters just graduated 8th grade and they are now a Freshman in High School, but they still identify with their Junior High football team. While all the other High School guys are focused on their football teams and their High School football rivals, some of the Freshmen are stilled focused on how great their Junior High team is/was and how their Junior High rivals are faring. Just sayin'

It is more like less insecure fans discussing one college team with fewer scholarships and smaller budgets becoming more competitive with other college teams in a civil intelligent manner.
