We just don't like seeing our alma mater and our future conference constantly trashed on this board. If you go to the AAC board, you almost never find a thread about C-USA.
We have been in this conference longer than Charlotte, have done more for this league athletically than most still in the league. We are around for another year, and I'm glad about that. I have nothing but respect for our C-USA brothers... especially those who we've played with the past several years.
I have, what... 1,700+ posts, 98% of which have been on THIS board. So I certainly don't have any plans on leaving anytime soon.

Hell yes I was hoping this was going to turn into a C-USA vs ECU pissing match. This board has really been lacking in those lately.

For every good ECU poster on here there are 2 or 3 others that cancels them out.

RE: AAC releases its' primary logo.
I don't post a ton... but from browsing, what I see is basically a few ECU posters getting riled up, mainly in response to constant prodding about how crappy the AAC is, how stupid ECU is for leaving, etc. Then we get the occasional "I hope your university burns to the ground." The ridiculous hostility on this board since the announcement has been cranked up to 11, and a few ECU posters are in ultra-defensive mode. I don't blame them.

There are just as many AAC fans that hate it as C-USA fans. No point in running over here and getting upset with us. From the name to the logo I feel like it has all been one giant troll.

Just me personally I like the name and the logo's. It will take getting used to, but any choice would have taken getting used to.

Then stop acting like you just got invited to the SEC. You chased a payday and ended up in the same seat just that you were in just admit it. It is how you all come off. You are running to a conference that 11 schools could not get out of fast enough. You keep pointing to ODU, UNCC, UTSA, NT, FIU, and FAU as the basis of your arguement. They are only in CUSA becuase you all left. You don't leave and most likely UC, USF, UCONN, and Temple are in CUSA. Little tidbit here UC had actually been talking with CUSA to see if that door was open if need be. Had you stayed it would have needed to be. I also know that Temple was looking at going back to the MAC. There was a period of time we could have killed off the Big East and became even stronger but you all got greedy and thought you were going to get millions and you got around 800k and had to pay more than that to get it. You are in a conference that is split into tiers and if 2 teams from the top tier leave you lose your tv deal.

ECU and to a lesser degree Tulane will not be praised on this board this year. I will cheer each and every loss both schools have this year. I for one hope we do not schedule ECWho or play them in a bowl. I do not see Houston, ECU, Tulane, UCF, Memphis (Laughable), SMU as a reward to play in a bowl game.

Sometimes there are just no words that can fully capture what I want to say on this board to comments like this.
What's wrong with my comment? Are you saying that it doesn't look like the Appy State logo? I sure think it does.
Even if this was the case, why would TH copy the App State A. Second, TH is not a graphic artist, Third, TH influence with Aresco and AAC is minimal, Fourth, in the USA Today article about the logo, it clearly states that two ad agencies provided designs for the logo. Did the winning ad agency use the App State A, unknowingly or even subliminally , perhaps, but TH did none of this.,
I dont know. Maybe its all coincidence. Whatever the case, it looks exactly like the App State "A'. I wouldn't be surprised if App State ends up having something to say about that.

Hopefully they did not graduate from school they claim to represent.........my guess.....they did not.
I'd never thought about it before, but perhaps we could have a thread/poll where we grade how well posters' parents performed their #1 job.

This is what I just flat out don't agree with. You call it being in the same seat. I call it moving into a conference with UCONN, Cincy, USF, Temple, and perennial C-USA East and West Champions UCF, Houston, and Tulsa, among others. We have a better TV deal than we had in C-USA. Maybe not a big difference in $, but in terms of exposure, we took a BIG step up. ENORMOUS step up in coverage and exposure for Men's Basketball.
So, we're playing better teams, have better TV $, and better TV exposure than we did when we were in C-USA. Sure, a few of our former C-USA mates are in the new conference with us, but that doesn't mean we "ended up in the same seat" that we were in before.
I don't think any AAC fan (Yes, ECU fans included) are making comparisons to the SEC in any way, shape, or form. We know we aren't an elite league. We're just happy to have a new, potentially better opportunity with some new faces.
