Similar. They both have a one elongated point, but the star in the C-USA logo is more of a half star rather than a full 5 point version.

Interesting. Wonder what the folks at App State will say about them stealing their original "A" design?

Basically stole Appy States logo and applied some CUSA look to it. My gut tells me that Terry Holland may have had a big influence in the design considering the ties to Appy State and CUSA.

It is called "hate" and "lack of success" on field (court) of play while attacking "others" to help easy their pain. It is not an outside problem but internal. My advice to those " haters" is to hold your coaches accountable, put love in your heart, and cannot we all just get along:) (Opinion)

That was my first thought. Looks like the CUSA star only turned.

Unorginal bastards.

Oh look... another thread where some ECU fan talks about Marshall. Nobody is showing their ass. Its well documented what a cluster F the 'Murica 12 SUMBITCH Conference has been.

RE: AAC releases its' primary logo.
My opinion has nothing to do with our lack of success on the field on my pain. I simply see the AAC as a joke. All those teams that left CUSA thought they were chasing a big payday and a BCS bid. None of those came close to being true. Like when Aresco went to the nextworks thinking he the AAC was worth 50 million more than the Pac-12 deal. Sure you all got a some extra money but not all that was promised or you bragged about. Now some of your all have this holier than thou attitude like somehow you have moved up in the world. I could care less about the conference or to ever join it. And evidently you don't have to be successful to get an invite because Tulane is going too.

It was especially funny when all the schools leaving said they had to get out of CUSA because it was in trouble of folding. That couldn't be further from the truth. The conference they ran too was the only one folding and had all those schools just stayed put here in CUSA the leftover Big East schools would have been scrambling to find a home and more likley than not would have had to come back to CUSA which in turn would have been worth a lot more money to the networks.

And if it was such a great deal to be a part of your new conference then the C7 wouldn't have been looking to get at a soon as they could. All the AAC is CUSA. Aside from Temple ( a once exiled BE school) and UCONN (previous 1-AA football) every team was at one point in time a member of CUSA. You all ran for a pay day and a "better" conference and got the same conference for a few hundred grand.

Go figure... when Marshall is brought up the same rat comes out of his hole. I think its time to run back to the 'Murica board and whine about MArshall fans and reputation points.

I understand where you're coming from... but can you honestly sit there with a straight face and say that playing UTSA, UNT, UNCC, ODU, FIU, FAU is better than playing UCF, UCONN, Cincy, USF, Tulsa, Houston... well... I can't help you.

There will be confusion of who is in which conference... they are so similarly branded and so many teams have been in CUSA. They will likely be viewed as "the same, but under different leadership." One "American" and the other "USA."

Sounds like CUSA could have some grounds for a copyright infringement suit under that line of thinking.

Even if this was the case, why would TH copy the App State A. Second, TH is not a graphic artist, Third, TH influence with Aresco and AAC is minimal, Fourth, in the USA Today article about the logo, it clearly states that two ad agencies provided designs for the logo. Did the winning ad agency use the App State A, unknowingly or even subliminally , perhaps, but TH did none of this.,

As a sports fan I hardly think even the casual person will mistake UConn, UC, and Temple with ODU, Charlotte and La Tech. Honestly, I can understand wanting ConfUSA to be a good conference. But how can you even suggest the leagues are similar enough to cause confusion. Obviously this is your opinion, I guess I just don't get it. Ask the average sports fan without a team involved in either league and I feel confident in believing that they would say the same as me,.

People sure do take this conference stuff personal. It's truly amazing to watch how some of these emotions develop. Hate is a terrible thing to let live in your head over the relatively relatively trivial matters in life.

The confusion will be that UCF, USF, Houston, SMU, Memphis, Tulane, ECU, etc... are in Conference America and Southern Miss, UAB, La Tech, Rice, UTEP, etc are in Conference USA. It looks like 6 in one and half-dozen the other. Then the branding and conference names are also very similar.
