There is something more serious or sinister going on here

RE: Black Monday? Nikkei is getting hammered again

We cannot sustain the federal debt load. Servicing the interest alone crowds out other items in the federal budget (eg, defense, national parks, grants, etc), the massive debt fuels inflation, and in the long run undermines investor confidence which will tend to require higher interest rates to attract their money.

The Fed rightly receives much attention for creating an environment for economic growth, but the Dem’s fiscal policy, regulations and other retardants on productivity play a role also.

And I'm black now, too! Not Indian.

Has anybody else ever thought of this.... if every country is in debt who's actually lending the money?

Outdated but it will still get the point across. Somebody explain how this works for a dummy.

Aliens. That's why we're seeing more UAP's. They're getting ready to do some debt collection.

It is a shell game of smoke and mirrors, a Zero Sum game of Cash movements in the name of "investment".

I have used the asset allocation, buy and hold, and index models for decades because I am not smart enough (few are) to predict the stock market winners and the best time to buy and sell.

In my experience, when the stock market tanks, it is everyone’s problem including those with diverse portfolios. The reasons are the weight given equities and the unreliability of bonds, crypto currencies, gold and cash effectiveness in countering equities. For example, bond returns suffered during the COVID era and Bitcoin correlates with the stock market (much to my surprise and Bitcoin proponents).

Well...to have a great reset, you need the world market to crash...but you also need the unfortunate global conflict. One side isn't going to give up the world currency so easily to another.
