RE: Katie Britt's SOTU Rebuttal
It’s all political theater. SOTU was a joke. The rebuttal was garbage too. Anyone who gives just a little thought to the speeches can see that neither had any sincerity about them. If I was a member of the Riley family I would be pissed off seeing a deceased family member being thrown around like a political football.

I'm pretty sure I'd be far more mad that she was murdered by an illegal that should never have been allowed in. As are the Riley family.

It’s no an either/or issue though is it. Of course the illegal immigrant should never have been here in the first place. At the same time, there is zero reason for politicians to jump into the fray to make cheap political points off the girl’s death.

Sure, there is. Geraldo weighed in on it to say the parents were not pro Trump and didn't see it as an illegal issue with the border. They may not have been pro Trump but neither did they make a pro Biden statement that I've seen. The illegal issue is a Biden shame and embarrassment which Geraldo was trying to gloss. At that point it becomes fair game to point out the inconsistencies and the lies. And since when has any topic not been the source of twisted cheap political points. The very fact that it is shows how damned out of touch both sides are with the people they claim to represent, and their sense of humanity and reality. It illustrates why those who have made an office in Washington a career need to be fired by ballot, investigated for their crimes and locked up with the common street thugs in prison!

The real issue here is that anyone in a House seat, or especially a Senate seat who is not a millionaire is in the vast minority. None of these cucks represent any of us. The grant perks to the uber wealthy and line their own pockets doing it. But as long as the professor crowd goes around pretending that the fault is the vast right-wing conspiracy and those on the right run around blaming illegals and dipshits teaching humanities the massive graft and favor buying in DC goes on for both sides, "and where it profiteth non dare call it treason." Face it both sides of the aisle is rife with corruption and graft and we should be railing against both!

While the substance of the Republican response wasn't bad, it wasn't anything groundbreaking either. Also, it was severely over-prepared (and thus over-acted) like a high-school level actress. The setting also seemed a bit too fancy of a kitchen to click with the average regular voter. Not quite Nancy's ice cream, but I found myself being reminded of that horrific miscue from the tone-deaf left. Republicans should know their base better by now. I'm hopeful these decisions will change for the better now that RINO Ronna McDaniel finally got the long-overdue boot back to Liz Cheyneyville where she belongs.

It was a missed opportunity in that should have been President Trump to give the rebuttal--after all, he is the presumptive nominee at this point, and since this wasn't anything close to a presidential state of the union address, but instead an unhinged, speech-slurred angry rant from a teleprompter by a puppet high on amphetamines, might as well have gotten the party started.

Curious how long the right is going to ignore that a key part of her rebuttal was a complete fabrication of events and facts?

Regarding the Mexican woman who was trafficked....

1. It happened in Mexico, not the USA.
2. It happened while George W. Bush was president.
3. She wasn't trafficked by Mexican drug cartels, but rather a pimp.
4. Britt didn't meet 1:1 with the woman.

Even worse, Britt is now doubling down claiming she made all this clear in her speech. 03-lol Yeah, no, you didn't.

Even worst though... after being allowed in, he broke multiple laws... per wiki (and I've heard from even left leaning sources)...

Ibarra had been previously arrested by both federal and state officials in multiple jurisdictions. He had a bench warrant issued for his arrest in December 2023 after failing to appear in court in a shoplifting case in Georgia.

This is the direct result of ending the 'stay in Mexico' policy... as well as 'sanctuary' policies. It shows the direct risk to American lives that 'catch and release' policies... like those championed by Biden, create.

I think it ridiculous to think that they are 'as mad' at the 'side' who openly and actively would have done all they could to keep this guy out or to send him back the first time he broke a law as they are at the side who kept him here, despite entering illegally and breaking laws.

3 of your 4 assertions are wrong or immaterial/misrepresentations.

Let's start with this.

There are youtube videos of her and the woman... so your #4 is just wrong.

Now let's look at what she actually said.

“We know that President Biden didn’t just create this border crisis. He invited it with 94 executive actions in his first 100 days. When I took office, I took a different approach. I traveled to the Del Rio sector of Texas. That’s where I spoke to a woman who shared her story with me. She had been sex trafficked by the cartels starting at the age of 12. She told me not just that she was raped every day, but how many times a day she was raped. The cartels put her on a mattress in a shoe box of a room, and they sent men through that door over and over again for hours and hours on end. We wouldn’t be okay with this happening in a Third World country. This is the United States of America, and it is past time, in my opinion, that we start acting like it. President Biden’s border policies are a disgrace.”

So she spoke to a WOMAN who bad been trafficked starting at age 12.

I don't know about your definition, Tom... but I don't call a girl a 'woman' until at LEAST 18, and even more likely not until at least mid 20's... so anyone that thinks she implied that this 'happened under Biden' is a moron and a liar.... so your number 2 is out as well. She's simply talking about what she really did (went to the border with an expert) , vs what Biden really did (signed a bunch of EOs making things at the border worse).

The woman she met said this about herself...
“I work as a spokesperson for many victims (of human trafficking) who have no voice...."

so she certainly sounds like the sort of person whom wouldn't simply be retelling her own story from years ago, but would be precisely the sort of advocate who could give a new congresswoman an idea of what the CURRENT problems were... and not those from 20 years ago. Congress seems to have agreed, since they also spoke to her.

Point 1...Like Biden you need to understand the problem better... When the woman testified before congress, she reported that she was trafficked to a border town and that it was 'foreign visitors' who raped her.... and given the location, those would most likely be Americans. More on this in a minute.

Like drugs, we create the demand and they create the supply....

In 2004-2008 it was fairly common for US residents to cross the border to go to bars, clubs...and yes... strip joints and brothels... I had a customer in Laredo and we regularly went across the border to the original cadillac bar.... but since then, the border towns have gotten much more dangerous because of the drug smugglers... so NOW they are trafficking those people here. Bringing the supply to the demand like drugs... and that would have been precisely what this woman would have told her. SHE was trafficked in Mexico for the benefit of (mostly) Americans.... and now those people are being brought across the border.

so to point 3, what the hell difference does it make? You realize that they are often the same people, right? They often use drugs to 'hook' the girls.... and certainly now they use the same people to send drugs as people across the border.

Is it a GREAT correlated story? Not at all... I'm actually a bit embarrassed at how poor speech writers are these days.... Kamala literally has only one 'go to' phrase and Biden says the same things he's said for years.... maybe she got nervous and missed a line in her speech or something.... but the ONLY point that you make here that means ANYTHING (and you didn't really make it... I did) was that Biden's policies had nothing to do with that woman Personally being trafficked.... but neither did anyone claim this. They just didn't explain the connection.

Dude, when you have to use that many words, you've lost. 07-coffee3

And I heard an interview with the actual woman yesterday. She did NOT have a 1:1 meeting with Britt. Britt was just at an event where the woman shared her story. Britt's story was garbage and had every intention of trying to make it sound like it was something that happened in the US while Biden was president.

We all know it. And so do you.

07-coffee3

Funny that you never say that in reply to one of Tanq's mindless/rambling novels.

3 of your 4 assertions are wrong or immaterial/misrepresentations.

Let's start with this.

There are youtube videos of her and the woman... so your #4 is just wrong.

And so do you.

true story ...
as you attest ...
now do biden ...
who serially lies every time he opens his g-ddamn mouth ...

Katie Britt's SOTU Rebuttal
Once again Tom drags someone into debating semantics instead of issues. The smarts from Rice keep getting suckered into it.
