If the rumors are true, then it’s both exciting and concerning.

From my fandom perspective, some extra money will help FSU stay competive with its peers, and some new teams to compete against will create some initial excitement. Perhaps the strengthening of the academic association makes it that much less tempting for FSU to abandon the ACC.

I haven't been to Silicon Valley in many years, but I used to go there quite often when it was booming. I remember sleeping in a hotel one night with the window open and the AC off, drifting off while listening to the waves crash on the beach at San Jose'...

When I was awakened by barking, it made me mad at first to think someone had their dogs on the beach in front of my hotel... until I realized it wasn't dogs, it was sea lions!

That's the good side of Northern California.

The only surprise is that this info is leaking. In the end, if approved, it will be a "unanimous" vote.

Don't underestimate the eggheads in the ACC wanting to add to high profile educational institutions.

So.... If Stanford and Cal are added on Tuesday, how long until they receive money from the ACC? 3 years? 5 years? 7 years? 14 years ?

At 16, do what the SEC is doing for 2024 and split the current 14 football schools so half play California and half play Stanford then flip. Home and away against each Bay Area school in a 4-year rotation.

Thanks God ACC has only 8 conference games. It could be worse for Cal and Stanford. If Cal and Stanford play each other annually, one of them only needs fly east three times.

Let's pray that the ACC Presidents aren't stupid enough to invite Cal and Stanford to join the ACC.

TBH, I don't think it's disastrous (for the Eastern teams) even if they do join all-in. It'll be the two West Coast teams that will do 87.5% of the travelling - the East Coast teams will only do the other 12.5%.

However, what this expansion would do is (1) open up a HUGE new TV market, and (2) tell the rest of the country that the ACC is coming and it's not going away.

100% agree. I was referring to the dozens of sports those two sponsor (many of which are not even varsity sports in the ACC). At least FSU women's beach volleyball will have some playmates now...
