RE: 2023 Football Roster
Two new names appeared on the roster this week:
Brian Bishop, PK from Central Catholic. (That makes 6 kickers on the roster now.)
Javion Bostic, WR, Winton Woods HS
He had tweeted back in Feb he was coming to UT, so now sure why his name is only showing up now.

(Note that on the roster, his name is spelled Jayvion, and his huddle lists him as going to Walnut Hills. Also his UT bio lists him as 5'10, but huddle says 6'1. Is this really the same guy? I dunno)

Oh, and they also fixed a few of the jersey numbers that appeared wrong during the game Saturday, but Julian Allen is still listed as #21, so still can't explain why he was wearing 98 with no name on the back.

I wasn’t able to watch the game, but was he playing special teams? Sometimes players that play both special teams and offense/defense will wear another number for part of the game to avoid a duplicate number conflict on one the 3 phases.

I wonder the recent 20 year record for locals (Lucas, Wood, Henry, Monroe) on the team? I'm thinking this team has to be close to the top.

Yeah, he was in on punt returns only, so maybe that explains it. I don't recall is Bowers (the other 21) plays punt returns or not.

The early 2000s felt like it was all Ohio, SE Mich and Pitsburgh. Chester Taylor, Tom Ward etc. But that's when I read the programs religiously. Haven't picked one up in 10 years.

certain someones going to Iowa, Kentucky and the rise of Cincinnati probably cut into the statewide recruiting haul. I picked the counties mostly by teams that might play games here in the city. I should add whatever counties Findlay, Lima, Fremont are in to "local."

RE: 2023 Football Roster
Andrews, Hook, Long, Mitchell, Newton and Rosi are all listed as juniors on the roster. Anybody know why those particular juniors were chosen to be honored compared to others? Is this an indication they don't intend to be back next year (for a 5th season?), or some other reason. I imagine Mitchell will likely declare for the draft this year. Just curious.

There's been plenty of Rocket FB'rs with eligibility working on grad degrees.
