"...The center has developed a system that categorizes the nation’s roughly 3,100 counties into six categories from the most urban (major metro core counties) to the most rural (nonmetropolitan counties). In between, the center divides counties into the categories of suburbs of those major cities; medium-sized cities; the suburbs of those medium-sized cities; small communities; and the rural, nonmetropolitan counties.
According to the preliminary analysis of the election results the group provided to me, Trump gained in all six kinds of counties — and by strikingly similar amounts. Trump improved his vote by 4 percentage points in each of the two most populous categories —the major metro core counties and their suburbs — and by 3 percentage points in each of the other four groupings of smaller places...."
That is pretty interesting that he would gain almost equally (percentage wise) among the different areas.
There is also a similarity among the places that voted for Harris, found in this article:
Considering unignoring him just for the belly laughs.
Worth considering. Vanilla Puddin' is big mad.
If I do then I will read his posts and so I have to be careful responding because his thin skinned self reports everything he thinks might get you a warning.

Why quote him?
Because he said some stupid sh!t to me that begged for a response. 90% of the time I ignore him.
Well as we just saw, a lot can change in four years. The GOP looked dead and was basically at war with itself for two years between MAGA vs establishment.
But sometimes that needs to happen in order to move forward. The Democrats need to do the same.
- Abandon the racial/gender pandering for votes.
- Go on independent media and talk about ideas with people like Rogan. There are many outlets like this.
- Become the party for fresh ideas versus “we’re not trump so vote for me”
- Work with Trump on overlapping ideas.
I don’t think they will do any of this, but if they did, I would definitely be more open to voting for a Democrat moving forward.

I can attest, this is true.

They need to stop alienating the South. Will be harder as the South is only getting more Republican so they have less of a field to draw from in the South. GOP can sit on the South & pour $$$ into PA & other teetering Blue states & it's there's. Let's be honest, Kamala didn't have a prayer in GA or NC, & FL is long gone

Yeah, they're going to definitely be doing some soul searching. But it is probably a little early to say that something like not going on a podcast was really a big issue, or even a small one.
It could be something as simple as how people viewed the economy all by itself. Even though the economy is fine and the envy of the world, people aren't that nuanced. There was likely not much the Harris campaign could do to change peoples feelings on that...especially with little time. And Biden did her no favors, along with the DNC, who suck ass at explaining things in a way anyone who doesn't follow closely can digest.
That being said, I have little to no faith the "leadership" of the DNC will figure it out.

Yeah. The economy is great! People are just not smart enough to understand.
If only people were as intelligent as you and the Dem party.

I agree that the fundamentals were against the incumbent. If Trump couldn’t fix 40 year high inflation, two year real wage decline, and chaotic wars… he likely loses with a decent D candidate.
I brought up independent media because younger men consume that more than cable or network tv. You cannot lose 60% of the white male vote and win an election. It looks like the electorate is becoming more balanced in terms of race/gender. It’s becoming less about right vs left, and now working class vs white collar.
I think people are thirsty for an environment that is predicated on ideas and less about immutable characteristics. Long form podcasts are replacing the 15 second sound bite, and that’s a good thing.

Trump and Elon are in this for themselves AND want to elevate everyone else along with them.
The Dems ONLY want gain for themselves, and if it just happens to benefit the peasants as well, that's a bonus.
I hope Elon and the MOB become gajillionairs because our lives will ALSO be that much better as as result.
That feckless C**t Pelosi became a multi-multi million-air over the last 30 years and hasn't done jack schidt for anyone of any real substance.
Dude, you'll never see it. But trump only cares about himself. He doesn't give a **** about America...other than how much money he can make while living here...and he certainly doesn't give a **** about you.

And sure, you can certainly use independent media more, but do we really know if that actually moved the needle?
Well - inflation cannot be fixed after the toothpaste is out of the tube. It took the administration and the Fed too long to acknowledge and address the obvious increase before the peak.
I prefaced my comment with “two year real wage decline.” And the cumulative real wage growth hasn’t offset the inflationary period yet. Couple that with really anemic job growth, especially in the private sector… that’s why people feel like the economy sucks. It’s been a K-shaped recovery. The job gains have been overrepresented by part time/gig work.
The last thing democrats should do is ignore the voter and try to educate them on why they’re wrong on the economy.
Tom, inflation isn't "fixed." The rate just slowed down from the 9.1% he jacked it up to in the beginning. Right now it's around 4%, last time I checked.

Wouldn’t he have made more by never running for POTUS and destroying his brand to 50-55% of the country?
I actually don’t question his motives at all. I think he does love the country. Now you can say his vision of how it should look is stupid or incorrect, but he’s lost more by being in the political spotlight.
I think it’s funny how people who hate Trump never bring up career congresspeople, who have leeched off the system for decades and have done nothing to improve the lives of ordinary people. Somehow they all get a pass because Trump exists.
