Our conference commissioner reportedly has a sign in her office saying "trust no one." She has to have contingencies and discussions with school presidents often about expansion or replenishing. School reps will not divulge plans to leave even if they have to smile while lying. Judy certainly knows that now and needs to be ready with a list of willing replacements.

EKU can replace us tomorrow Judy.

I'm good with the baseball tourney being Ruston.

I wonder how many years we will have to wait to get anything aside from Indoor T&F in Lynchburg?

Well, you could host the FB championship game in December?

I'm pretty sure the Softball AND/or Volleyball tournament will be AT LIBERTY This Year. Plus--all tourney sites for 2023-24 have yet to be announced.

Not that we can draw any conclusions. Too many variables.

IMO the league intends on staying at ten (for now) unless forced to add due to losing members.*

This is a good thing, right? I'm not sure, unless there is a Mo. St or better that it makes sense right now to expand and have more mouths to feed. Stay at 10 until we either 1) have to do something or 2) an add that improves the conference becomes available. I also agree that 2 is very unlikely at the moment.

Lets see how this year plays out. It could be better than what everyone expects at this point in time.

GO AGGIES!!!!

RE: C-USA Spring Meetings
Since we are new around here, I am curious why you think Liberty will host softball and/or volleyball? Are there predetermined sites for those tourneys or do they go to the regular season champs? Again, just learning the ropes.

I have assumed that we would likely host indoor T&F since I don't of any other school in league with a facility. I could be mistaken. But I also recognize that historically the league tends to lean towad the center of the footprint with the obvious exception of the DFW Metroplex. Am I off base?

RE: C-USA Spring Meetings
Saw a tweet by a fairly reliable sports account about Volleyball and/or Softball to Liberty this year. All sites (except FB) are determined at these meetings. Sometimes years in advance and other times only one year ahead.

A few conference officials know the scoop--but have probably have been told to keep quiet until the official press release.

There is an indoor track facility in Birmingham. It has hosted the D2 national championships.

Pretty sure the one you refer to in B-Ham is where C-USA has been going.

I believe phase two of Build Blue is going to remove that from the Murphy Center. The last I heard was the IPF was planning to have the track inside it but that is phase three.

Not sure if it was mentioned but Liberty's AD Ian McCaw said in an interview the regular season leader in CUSA football will host the CUSA championship game. Said Liberty will host CUSA championships in volleyball and indoor track and field.

I like that for the football championship. We're not tight enough geographically or have enough big fanbase for nuetral site to really pull people in. Home game conference championships should have pretty good atmospheres.

Plus another home game in Ruston might offset the weeknight games a little.

50-50 chance that someone gets two trips to scenic North Louisiana in the same year (the other half there would be someone being granted that opportunity after having hosted us).

Next year is when the uneven schedules start, so that's less good for everyone, but still potentially gives every CUSA team the chance to play the Bulldogs (and 8/9 of y'all that same chance to be allowed to play us twice).
