If the term slut can be applied to a man, then it could be applied to Ricky Pitino. No sympathy here. Have fun in the NIT.

there is no proof that the Fox would increase payout for 2 additional schools. it's been nothing more than a rumor.

Carnesecca Arena is like double that size. iona's size is like fellow MAAC areans like Draddy at Manhattan

The Big East would be better off adding Davidson than in adding any MAAC or NEC schools.

Dayton and St Louis are probably best positioned to become Big East schools.

Glad to have him around. He has been a breath of fresh air.
That’s funny because sometimes I think he is you and a handful of other P6 fans!
I don't find the "P6" offensive.
When you're winning NY6s, making CFPs and Final Fours I don't think its bad to tout you're a top 6 league.
The Old Big East (the lineal AAC) was part of the "Big 6" and there is value in establishing that the order hasn't changed.
It's one thing to tout your football as "typically a top six league." I'm fine with that.
But it is quite another to refer to AAC football as a "power football conference." No consistent, knowledgeable and unbiased follower of college sports views AAC football or basketball as "power" (though the league clearly offers individual football and hoops programs that are high-major and worthy of power league inclusion). When you (and some others on this board) use that term to describe AAC football and/or hoops, you invite ridicule. And in doing so, you indirectly might make the already difficult task of AAC programs earning respect even more challenging. And this Memphis and Cincinnati fan takes note.
I give you credit, T-Boy, for knowing your stuff related to college sports. And you also are clearly sharp, as your strong wordsmithing skills prove.
But all your "power" talk related to the AAC is absurd. You are either trolling or clueless. Or both.

Marist might be the better add. Although they are no longer Catholic they are further north in Poughkeepsie and thus closer to Albany. Win-win

Iona has a perfect geographical fit to send fans to the NBE tournament; and they are a perfect institutional fit for the schools that make up that conference.
When the NBE brokered their 12-year deal with FS1, the NBE Charter Members (Butler, Creighton, DePaul, Georgetown, Marquette, Providence, Seton Hall, St Johns, Villanova, Xavier) had it written into their deal that they could add 2 NBE Expansion Members (Connecticut & ????) at an equal revenue share (roughly 4 million per yr) to the Charter Members.
With the 12-year NBE Contract coming up in a few years, Val Ackerman made it known that they would look at expansion (which is smart to maximize the league's founding contract document).
Iona's name wasn't mentioned as prominently as Dayton, VCU, St Louis, which is surprising given their proximity and institutional similarity (among other things). It seems like a win-win for both sides with FS1 picking up the cheque.
I have to think Rick Pitino is using his connections to explore it, at least.
It looks like Pitino is already trying to position Iona for another step up in conference realignment.

I’m honored Ricky P reads my work.
That said, Iona is right where they belong.

Of course he wants into a better league.
The problem is that the MAAC schools are small, similar basketball programs who have periods of success based on their coach, and once that coach moves on...
La Salle won the MAAC 4 of 5 years and then got invited to join a better league. And A-10 fans have been talking about ditching La Salle for decades now.
