Ahhh, I thought New Orleans since they showed a New Orleans restaurant, Andolette's Appoline's. I didn't think about there possibly being one elsewhere, I just knew it wasn't Memphis.

FTR, the ONLY reference to Appoline's is in New Orleans. That doesn't mean there is an actual Appoline's in Canada I know.

I looked up some of the Memphis “landmarks” and sadly they were in Toronto :(

Because Memphis is basically a dump. Doesn't make for good television. There was a tv show about Memphis a few years ago filmed in Nashville.

Bluff City Law was shot entirely here. The Gummie Lord made several on screen appearances as an extra.

GTFO lol
Reacher was entirely shot in Canada cuz of Covid protocols. Every city that was in Arkansas, GA, MS in the show was a city in Canada. Must all be dumps then.

Nice review Brandon aka Hernando Hills Tiger

It's called google search. I don't care for google but it is what it is. I googled, "Is Memphis a dump?" and that popped up. It is what it is.

SMH
Ok, Brandon

RE: Reacher
Completely unrelated other than a new series at the top of the must watch list:

September Amazon Prime launch of the first season of The Lord of The Rings: Rings of Power.

Set in the second age of Middle Earth prior to the Hobbit and Trilogy. A lot of what Silmarillion tells about middle earth history. Silmarillion was rejected by Tolkien’s publishers but it became the beginning of what became the Trilogy.

Planned for an initial run of 5 season costing beyond $Billion.

The Hobbit was written in the 30’s during the build up to the Second World War. It was a time between wars when there was peace but dark clouds of evil were building across Europe and beyond. He fought in the trenches of WWI so he understood the worst of what war did to human kind. He was influenced by the politics of time. He was also close friends with C.S. Lewis of Narnia fame. They helped shape each other’s work but differed greatly on the role of Formal religion allegory. Tolkien wrote clearly with the concept of Good vs evil but wanted his works to stand purely as fantasy. Lewis, a converted Christian made it core to his writings.

There were numerous failed attempts to put Tolkien’s work into a credible film version before Peter Jackson. Jackson set the standard. From early reports the Amazon venture will equal the quality and purity of What Tolkien created…with some poetic license as did Jackson.
