Cruise has to stand on a box to kiss most leading ladies. Not the guy to strike fear in the heart of bad guys.

I appreciate all the good reviews here. But, I gotta finish Yellowstone before I start this series. I’m in Season 2 on that.

I’ve read them also. One of my favorite series. It should rate high enough for a second season but it will likely take a couple of years to come out.

Ritchson did a very credible job and can grow into the role. Reacher is a big character in both size and presence. I was prepared to not like the Tom C. Movie version but in spite of his short stature I think he pulled it off.

I’m reading the most recent Cotton Malone paperback book now (I don’t do hardback, Recorded or Kindle). If you don’t know the Cotton Malone character check out author Steve Berry.

A lot of people don't like it, but I kinda like Magnolia.

I really don't understand these people.

Magnolia is an incredible film.

yeah the "Memphis" scenes also used a fictitious 'Diner' in 'midtown' as they referred to it as well. They said something along the lines of "if there's somewhere we should look it is midtown"

And then proceeded to show New Orleans restaurants and scenes from there as if they were in Memphis. Even the two Memphis officers who ended up dead had names like Thibideaux. That was some laziness. But, that was the only beef I had with it so far.

At least this actor wasn't a 5'7" dude trying to play the part of a 6'5" 250 mountain.

Ahhh, I thought New Orleans since they showed a New Orleans restaurant, Andolette's Appoline's. I didn't think about there possibly being one elsewhere, I just knew it wasn't Memphis.

FTR, the ONLY reference to Appoline's is in New Orleans. That doesn't mean there is an actual Appoline's in Canada I know.

Actually a number of Atlanta scenes & some from around Senoia & Grantville GA too. Much better representation of Reacher as a big guy from the book series rather than midget Tom Cruise in the movie.

While on its own it was a good movie the whole time I was watching I was trying to reconcile a midget playing a giant.

Parts of Arkansas as well and of course the Mississippi river lol
It's a really solid show IMO and the Reacher actor did a great job. I binge watched it over 2 days.

I watched 6 episodes before I realized it was 0130. Paying for staying up so late right now.

Alan Ritchson is a big dude. Although he’s 6’2 in real life, they portray him as a 6’5 dude. Having a big physique helps as well and the way almost every character responds to his size helps with emphasizing the character’s size. The fight scenes are impressive and his size comes into play in most of the fight scenes.

Interesting. When he and the lady cop were dancing I thought that she must be at least 5'10" to 6' tall if he was 6'5". That explains it.

Plus those in scenes around him seem to be Tom Cruise size. All in all I liked the series just like I have liked Lee Child's book series.

I read so many of them that I lost track of where I was when I lost my kindle. I didn't read anymore until recently when I got another and all my library was wiped out. So I started buying ones I thought I hadn't read only to get a little into them before I realized I'd already read them. I re-read them anyway.

I think the books resonate with me because my 6'3" 240 pound old man spent 25 years as an MP and I was pretty much raised in a boot camp. He was big and mean and smart as a whip. I watched in fascination one night as he disarmed a man holding a gun to his chest and sent him packing.

A good # of shows seem to be shot in Canada. Also, a lot of shows seem to Canadian actors. Stealing good jobs from hard working Americans. 03-wink

When I watched Izombie one of the characters (a musician) wore a 'big star' (band from Memphis) t-shirt. Thought was kind of cool.

You do know he does almost all of his own stunts, or did when he was younger, not sure if he still does or not.

Andolettes (or so I thought, I can't find it now so I must be misremembering that name of it). I googled it and the only thing that came up was for the one in N'awlins.

Edit: Appoline's

Because Memphis is basically a dump. Doesn't make for good television. There was a tv show about Memphis a few years ago filmed in Nashville.
