Don't come to WV if you are afraid of snakes LOL
I disagree... Any snake you got, we got in MS/LA thensome
Probably true. This map shows snakebite incidents half the ones in WV are likely due to dumb*** snake handler preachers.
Like Virginia doesn't have any Snake Handling churches LOL
Oh we do. But we’re not telling folks to not come to Virginia if they’re afraid of snakes.

I wouldn't say I'm terrified of them.. Just not a fan..
Nothing like being in Venice, LA.. Smoking a Marlboro Red, walking floating pipe in the MS River and on one side a gator pops up and as your turning around a Cotton Mouth pops his head up and tries to get on the pipe.. Good f'n times
Spent my elementary years in Port Sulpher. Played a lot of Pee wee football at the fort in Boothville- Venice. Now I think they all go to South Plaquemine.
The last time I left Plaquemine Parish I was pulled over for speeding. Doing 45 in an unposted 25. Got the ticket, wasn't allowed to protest it, and had to send the money via Western Union. Shady.

I bet his explanation was “you’re a guest here in these parts son. Know the rules before you get here.”

Anyway, here are a few of what I think are great that I happened to find:”
There are even some cool ones you can buy on-line:
Of course, this still how many of us still do it, though it isgetting harder and harder to find paper newspaper, lol:
Thanks. I am going to reach out to this guy and get a custom USM one made. Not sure where I will put this 7' thing during the off-season.
Custom Crawfish Tables
These are pretty cool too.
Crawfish Table
Yep, they are.
I’ve actually considered getting one, but storage was the issue. Not sure it’s worth it for using it 3-4 times a year. What I wanted was one that folded, or otherwise was easy to store, but couldn’t find one that wasn’t more money than I was willing to part with, lol.
But I love that my best friend, and a couple of other family members have them, so I get lots of usage of them. Plus, most of the local restaurants now have them, so that it is nice as well.
I was talking with my wife about possibly getting a boat as we live on the Gulf. She put it in the same context as you. How many days could you possibly use it? I would never be able to go out during the week and I wouldn't bring it out when it is cold. Our kids have tons of events. We came up with we would only be able to use it about 10 days of the year and 50 or 60k purchase just wouldn't be worth. Plus they are a money pit. As of last night I am not getting a boat. Still might consider the crawfish table even with just 3 or 4 days of usage. Haha
Worst 80 grand I have ever spent and just to be on a lake around Atlanta. The two best days of your life are the day you buy and the day you sell a boat. Now I got on EBay and got a used single engine boat for 10k that treads nicely through the bays of Portsmouth NH.. gets me to all the lobster pounds where I eat dem big crawfish yeah. I never knew dem crawfish got dat big

Well that makes me feel better about the urge to get a boat. Do you ever boil the lobster like we boil everything down here or do you steam them?

It was post Katrina and basically it was, there was a sign we haven't had time to put it back up. This was almost a year later. But how am I to know and you know like I do, had I been able to talk to a judge he'd thrown it out.
Whatever.. It cost $45 plus I think $20 to process through WU.

That snake bit map is obsolete. There are more snakes in Washington DC then ever before and they are biting not just people in Maryland but the whole nation. They need to be skinned for our hats and boiled for what (little) meat they have.

I live 1 block from a lobster pound where I pick a 2-10 pound lobster brought in that day. Never go past 3 pounds. I pay the owners 5$ to boil 1 or 6. Depending on my guest count. It’s all still one 5$ price. Then we sit in my back yard and drink beer and discover the many places to find lobster meat on the lobster. Even the flair of the tail has meat.but I miss my crawfish.

It's refreshing than when this thread went off course (as they all do here) most of the OT discussion was friendly (unless you are a crayfish).

I went up to Kennebunkport about 7 years ago and did a lobster tour type thing with my wife. They also said over 3lbs wouldn't be good for eating. I liked it there are a lot and was surprised how much the Maine people don't like Canadians. We rented a car and drove over to Quebec City in Canada and they didn't like people from Maine. Haha

RE: What is a fair amount to release ODU USM and Marshall?
All this talk had me looking at a weekend trip home to get some crawfish...
Then on TikTok I came across the StaleKracker doing a shrimp boil.
I need to smoke something on the smoker that's good this weekend to try and stifle this hunger.
Actually considered buying a bottle of bourbon that's not expensive, get some oak pellets, and smoke the bourbon since it's cold enough and I'd use the same method as smoking cheese.

I still think it's a shame.
