WAC MBB Week #4
Week four starts Monday with four games. Two games of interest Texas vs Sam Houston and GCU vs Loyola Marymount. These games are of interest as the Sam game will give some sort of a sense of the balance of the conference as Texas defeated CBU last week by twenty-four. GCU shows to be a 4.5 point underdog to Loyola Marymount, so maybe it will be a close game and GCU can get the WAC a win. The other two games should be blowouts as Tarleton takes on Gonzaga and ACU plays Schreiner.

We supposedly have an extra game scheduled for Wed. at the last minute since we missed the Bahamas. I don't see that being anything but a cupcake game. None of us know who it is though, because it's not been advertised yet.

Very important week for the Aggies.

Brigham Young at UVU has been circled on my calendar for almost a year now. Those players all play together in the off season so it should be a really fun contest.

You mean to tell me there are other games scheduled this week besides NMSU/NuM and NMSU/minors? Who knew?

I saw on Twitter it will against The University of Dallas. They are a D3 school.

Yep, with that short of notice I knew it would be all we can get. Right now, coach just wants minutes of play for us to get ready for conference. Tonight, we beat up on DIII Schreiner 88-47

For those who are unaware, Gonzaga and Tarleton is on Stadium for free. Despite the announcers frequently rhyming their name with "charlaton" it's a very entertaining game with Tarleton hanging in their and frustrating the Zags. I am rooting for the WAC of course!

And yes we are down one at the half, 26-25.

We had the last shot of the first half for the lead.

I will give Tarleton credit, they played Gonzaga closer than the twenty plus I would have expected. The Texas Sam game went about as I expected. Glad to see GCU get the win. ACU did what you were supposed to.

We keep getting better every week and the guys are buying in. Really like our chances when conference play rolls around.

Just a few buckets away from you becoming extra insufferable. Hey, life goals are important.

And a lesson; Portland State had close games (gave Duke a ride, beat Stanford, etc.) and good wins OOC four years ago, looked like they’d pummel the Big Sky, then (air letting out of balloon). Note that the dude at the helm that year was Holland Woods, now at GCU… just a true frosh back then.

RE: WAC MBB Week #4
I think Tarleton will have difficulty speeding up some of the WAC teams like they sped up Gonzaga. Mainly because there are WAC schools that have small guards who match up well against Tarleton.

As an Aggie, GCU concerns me most. They have two small guards (Blacksher and Woods) who can handle defensive pressure and as a team, they are dominating the boards against everyone they have played thus far.

Tarleton played Gonzaga at the perfect time. Zags lose a tough/tight game vs #5Duke over the weekend and before that #2UCLA. Tarleton was sandwiched between these two schools and #16 Alabama on this Saturday. Last night was the perfect look past game from the Zags point of view and Tarleton almost made them pay. The Zags broadcast mentioned that last night was one of the toughest games in the last 5 years they played at home. So tip of the cap to Tarleton for pushing Gonzaga to their limits for most of the night.

GCU would have lost by 40 last night to Gonzaga.

Let's see. Gonzaga played Tarleton. Gonzaga just played Duke. Gonzaga is scheduled to play Alabama. Yup. Let's bring GCU into the conversation. Makes perfect sense. I see how they are tied into all of this...07-coffee3
