It was homecoming weekend at Seattle U, so the crowd may have actually been a little larger because of that.
I highly doubt there were more than 1,500 in a seat watching the game. It was depressing having SU in that beautiful arena and not have more ppl in person watching the game.
I do see what you're saying, but I look at it this way- its more people than could be watching them at the Redhawk Center, they were more comfortable, and able to spread out if they have covid concerns and might not want to be packed in. And in past years at Key, they've actually had some decent crowds. At any rate, it beats the 400-500 some of the new eastern division schools pull.

I don't know what people are talking about. The minors defense looked pretty good to me. NMSU had 16 TO's after only 9 against UC-Irvine. They trapped our PG's up top and denied passing lanes. Several times we could not get the offense going as the PG couldn't make the first pass to start it. Their defense is was really good.
As for Golding's pumpkin pie haircut, that didn't look good...

Hope Seattle figures it out.
I agree, Coach Keller after the game praised SDST saying they were the best team ever to come to the SawMill.

Looks like the WAC added a new Freshmen of the Week award...
Week# 1
The WAC Player of the Week is Chicago State's Brandon Betson (19.0 ppg)...
And, the WAC Freshman of the Week is Cal Baptist's Taran Armstrong (12.0 ppg and 8.5 apg).

With some marketing (and low ticket prices) NMSU can even pack the Pan American Center once or twice a year. But Las Cruces doesn't have the type of economy that allows most families to have the expendable income to go to every Aggie game... Football... Basketball... etc. However, all things being equal, NMSU draws better in basketball than most places around the country. I'm happy if NMSU can keep the PAC a little more than half filled (over 6,500) on average.
This is a conversation we've been having on the SFA pages regarding ticket pricing. If you don't have season tickets, it can be between 15-25 per person to get in.
And that prices a lot of people out right off the bat.

It’s not only the prices. Nowadays it’s so easy to stream any game from home. The causal fan would rather see the game from their couch. Unless we all start paying our fans to attend games like GCU does lol jk.

All of us GCU season ticket holders get paid handsomely. Some day we will let you in on our secret so that your fan bases can get paid as well.

Off topic, but I'm watching former WAC UMKC playing with former Aggie Evan Gilyard beating Missouri right now on SEC Network. I always liked Evan Gilyards play.
Evan is up to 5 out of 6 3's and took 2 charges that save 2 Missouri buckets. Announcers really talking him up and have mentioned NMSU a couple of times. The Roos are rolling with a 20+ lead with 11:00 left.

Gilyard finished with 28. Never was that much of a scorer for us. I see why be transferred if he didn't like his more support type role under Jans.
