Never said they didn’t deserve to go , that’s irrelevant. Of course they deserved to go. My understanding is bowl money for all MAC teams attending bowls is divided by 12. MAC office likely takes a cut also.

Team and staff transported. Band, Cheerleaders, Mascot on their own.
That’s a huge expense.

This was told to me by staff at time of Frisco Bowl when they were seeking
funds.

Could be different now after Covid.

They were sacrificed to Arizona State, Auburn and Wisconsin for $4.5 million and then add in the bowl payout of $650,000. Additionally, the conference subsidizes expenses with a cut of the revenue sharing. If they were scraping for funds to cover that bowl game then shame on them.
