Board has been quiet after last weeks loss. I see the good guys bouncing back with a big win. I don't see any reason to be in panic mode yet. This team still controls its destiny. I will be cheering on Ball State to beat Miami this week to make the path easier.

As for the game against Ohio, both teams like to run the ball so this could be a quick game. Hopefully the defense is ready to stop the run. Last week Ohio ran 53 offensive plays against Buffalo with 43 being runs. The last three games they have thrown the ball an average of 15 times while running it an average of 45 times. Stop the run and win the game.
Let’s beat those big green weanies…
FUMBLE!! Recovered by Kent!
75 flags later come away with a fg. 10-0
Defense with its third turnover of the day. Offense needs to capitalize and put 7 on the scoreboard.
17-7 at half with Kent getting the ball. Let's break this 3rd qtr curse and make it 24-7.
Finally put it together and score in under 90 seconds. 24-7 good guys.
Solid win for the good guys.
Congratulations on the road win. One thing I find interesting is the Flashes kick-off strategy. Kicking a pop-up to the other team's 30 yard line & hoping for a fair catch is unusual. I guess I can't question it too much since it appears to be effective [most of the time]. Plus the potential for a fumble or muff increases. With the strength & specialization of kickers today, most of them kick-off for touchbacks.

Anyone else annoyed with how many times the announcers called Crum Rourke?
Anyone else annoyed by most of what Reghi says anytime he’s on the mic?
Could find reasons to complain, but I won't.

Facts are:
-3-1 in MAC
-winners of 10 of last 12 MAC games
-4-4 so far (3-5 in 2019)
-Crum continues to be efficient (84% completion rate today)
-3 packed student section games

Reghi was terrible yesterday. Lots of mistakes and flubs. I wonder if these guys are still doing it from home , not the press box. No halftime shots of them so I’m guessing from home. They were often slow to ID players.
It's interesting that Kent State is tied for first in the division with a 3-1 record, and second overall by only 1 game, yet has been outscored by its opponents in conference play by 9 points. 7 of the 12 teams have outscored their opponents, and two others have been outscored but by fewer than 9 points. KSU is averaging 35 points per game in conference play, the most by any team. Buffalo is 2nd, at 31.75. But, KSU's opponents have scored more than every other team save BG, who has allowed only 2 more points. I know statistics can be deceiving, and that the only thing that matters is the W-L record. I suppose as long as you score 1 more point than the opponent that is all that matters.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the new reality for KSU/MAC games going forward. They realized it can be done relatively well, so why bother paying for any expenses involved in announcers traveling to the games (mileage, meals, hotels, hourly wage while traveling) for the low interest games? Just leave them at home and make it a little cheaper.

When you've played 4 games and given up 64 in one of them, it's going to skew your averages pretty hard.
Exactly, anti-zip. That is why I noted that statistics can be deceiving, especially when using mean averages instead of the median or the mode. Of course, with only 4 games, none have any significant meaning. I just find the stats interesting because the most salient figure is that they are 3-1. It's kind of like the famous 1960 World Series. The Yankees averaged four more runs per game, but the only thing that matters is that the Pirates won the series 4-3.

Totally agree. Even this year MLB did not allow local team announcers to travel. They did games from studio or home ballpark when team was on the road. They made no effort to hide it either.
Paul O’Neil operated from his basement and called it Studio 21. MLB local announcers missed a lot of calls and plays as a result. Most fans never noticed
The team is only two wins away from being bowl eligible. The Akron game should be a guarantee win. That just leaves winning one game between NIU, CMU, and Miami.

True, but I had higher hopes than merely being "bowl eligible". I still have such hopes but I am not as confident as I once was.
