Just a guess, but a win or close game gets Littrell another season.
NT is getting better, and they were only projected to win 3 or 4 games.
NT also is a very young team and I doubt NT is going to spend a few extra million to get rid of Littrell.
Obviously, NT was chosen for the AAC for a lot of reasons, not based on the current football team.
I highly doubt any decision has been made on Littrell. He will be fully evaluated in light of his performance and the availability of possible replacements.
What I think will happen, is not what I want to happen. Too many interpret pronostifications with wishes.
Yes 7.6 million reasons. Don’t kid yourself Location was the reason UNT was added to the AAC. UTSA, FAU, Charlotte no brand no following just plenty of people for ESPN
The American took markets, but they already had SMU in Dallas. They didn't need UNT. There were other factors working in our favor.

One of the other factors may have been to keep the mwc out of the the big Texas markets. Just a guess.

SMU does not deliver the DFW market, look at games and note the actual attendance.
Neither does NT obviously, but in terms of numbers of alumni and fans they come closer than SMU.
Yes, obviously the AAC membership additions were based on markets, but potential growth is a large part of that. It comes down to location and investments, NT scores very well on both factors.

I think these two factors weighed heavily for UNT and tipped the scales in our favor. With over 42,000 students enrolled and hundreds of thousands of alums in the Dallas/Fort Worth market, there is tons of potential for growth. Plus, UNT has proven they will invest in athletics (increased athletic budget & new or renovated facilities). Also, the economic growth and potential for future growth in the Dallas/Fort Worth region is among the best in the country.

Yes that also. The MWC was never really interested in UNT or UTSA and played the AAC like a fiddle. Severely weakening the AAC with recent market additions. There is no doubt the MWC will be the top G5 going forward
Now most of the AAC schools are extremely disappointed with the recent market additions say hello to CUSA 4.0

The MWC was interested in Texas additions. Once it didn't work out, of course they were going to downplay their interest.
No one knows who will emerge as the top G5 conferences once the dust settles. But, Boise hasn't been Boise this season. And of the teams that will be in each conference, both have one top 25 team at the moment (San Diego St. & UTSA).

RE: UNT: Hopefully the Fight is Over
With the number of vacancies you'd think UNT would want to be ahead of the game. GaSo already hired a coach. Troy is in the interview portion. SMU will be in the hunt soon too. UNT needs a new coach. I don't see the point in waiting.

We already have a coach as we knew Sonny was leaving weeks ago

Yes, obviously most of the AAC schools are extremely disappointed with the new additions; that is why they added them. How in the world did you get to be an expert on what other teams or conferences want?
I get it, you are disappointed that La Tech was left adrift. Those AAC administers would be geniuses if they had added La Tech.
I have always admired La Tech's athletic programs based on the success they have gotten and think they will not only survive, but ultimately prosper in a new environment.

Looks like UNT was chosen because they kick ass and take names. The AAC will be just fine.
