CBS Sports reports that AAC is trying to poach SDSU, Boise State, CSU and Air Force to cripple the Mountain West. My sources tell me they won't take the bait, realizing they're better off in an intact Mountain West (and don't want to send their tennis teams to East Carolina).
Looks like this post has aged well despite everyone telling me otherwise.
Your sources are wrong cause CSU is meeting with the AAC next week.
Guys I’m quoting the tweet, Jesus.
No. What you are is a liar. You have been busted on the sbc board. You created this fake ID to do nothing but troll, but at least now we will no longer be subjected to it. You are nothing but a ltur troll, and people need to be aware of this.
’latex’ busted

It looks like The Sunbelt didn’t get invited to the AAC and is doubling down as being a better “P6” conference. Or App State, Coastal, and ULL got together and decided they weren’t interested.
Statement on realignment from the @SunBelt, which describes itself “the best non-autonomy FBS conference in the country.”
The B12 is also hosting another round of expansion in a few years. This likely blocks The AAC from poaching any MWC schools. Why would you move to the AAC when you have a chance to go P5?
So with The Sunbelt challenging for the “P6” title and the MWC waiting on the Big12. All the AAC expansion schools are going to be from C-USA or FCS.
UAB, Marshall, LaTech, Rice is my prediction. But you obviously have Southern Miss, UNT, ODU, Charlotte, and FAU as well.

Because he’s not, as the SBC mods have very clear. They checked his IP and he is a LTU fan, who’s regular ID has dog in it and a farm animal. But don’t take my word for it, check out the link I provided to the SBC board where the mods there outted hum.

Hi, Franky. Thanks for coming all the way over from the Sun Belt boards to derail a thread on another conference's forums.
You wanna get back on topic and tell people why Louisiana won't be going to the AAC?

No. LaTex, I believe, is a Louisiana Tech fan with an IP address that I could only guess and am 99.999999% sure is no where near where my IP address puts me. I have no particular affiliation. I just root for a fair shake for the Gang of 5 against the Autonomy Conference monopoly on access to the national title game.
But, FrankyP has also gone on his witch hunts for me because he expects me to fully kiss the Sun Belt Conference's ass in every comment on all the forums in topics related to the Sun Belt, when there is a lot of things wrong with the Sun Belt overall that need addressed. Although, they are doing many things right, at least for football, they aren't the best Gang of 5 Conference overall. That's just a fact.

Yeah it gets confusing with a bunch of ltur losing liars. But let me try to set you straight:
A41 is not latex and is not a ltur fan per se, but because he dumps on ULM and the SBC so much the ltur fans love him. Just check out his reps.
The mods on the SBC board checked his IP and determined that latex is a second ID created by a ltur poster, which is in violation of the UAP. Here is a bit of what the mods on the SBC board had to say about this, which is a result of latex and his fake ID’s. The emphasis is mine:
“Please keep in mind that none of our posters are complete idiots. Most are going to see through fake accounts, and moderators have access to IP Addresses of those accounts, and also a list of user names of other posters who use the same IP. Creating a duplicate account remains against CSNbbs AUP and is grounds for a site wide ban”
Bottom line latex is skating on very thin ice by continuing to using his fake ID.

ULM is losing to 1-AA Jackson State at the half and is tied for the nation's longest active losing streak. ULM only has one winning season in 26 years of 1-A football. Am I supposed to kiss their ass, Franky? Pretend they don't suck at football just to make you feel better? As far as bashing the Sun Belt, you are so full of s***! My posts about the Sun Belt, and the few that are, that is remotely negative of the Sun Belt are much more tame than what some fans of the AAC and CUSA have used. At least I always call the Sun Belt the "Sun Belt" because I've seen worse from others.
Now can you stay on topic and quit your b****ing about other users you don't like?

I'm personally in favor of UL. They are trying to rebrand as just the University of Louisiana, no location appendix. Plus there's that restaurant in Houston called the Ragin' Cajun and they're big UH athletic supporters.

RE: Sunbelt and MWC schools aren’t expansion candidates
The AAC expansion discussion has seemed to hit a pause, whether it was the MWC Commissioner that put a halt to it or a lack of interest from Boise & SDSU.
The pace seems to have plummeted from red hot to ice cold over the past 36 hours.
.
Wondering what everyone thinks about the situation at this point.
*Could Boise or SDSU still be considering the idea (if they ever did), or have they nixxed the idea of switching?
*If BSU & SDSU aren't going. to move, will CSU & AF rethink their decision?
*If CSU & AF confirm their interest in the AAC, which two other schools would the AAC add?
---Would they prefer to add two other MWC schools, or
---Would they add two eastern schools (UAB, ULL, LTU, Marshall, App St, etc.)?
*If CSU & AF pull out of the proposed deal, which four schools would the AAC add?
---Would UAB, UTSA, & FAU be their top 3 choices, as Dodd seemed to suggest?
---If not, which do you think would be on the AAC's short list?
---Possibilities: ULL, LTU, Marshall, Coastal Car (+1 BB school), App St. (+1 BB school), Buffalo...

It's hard to say. I bet Aresco is hoping Fresno State will reach out. I do believe Air Force Academy and CSU-Fort Collins as travel partners to one another would move to the AAC. I don't think Boise or San Diego State will.
The thought of the next 2 being UAB and Army (football only) and an Atlantic 10 team--most likely Virginia Commonwealth--was popular with me, but Fresno, which has always been decent in football and so-so in basketball is having a hot football year that could be attractive to the AAC instead of UAB.
I do not think think schools in other ESPN-backed conferences like the Sun Belt and MAC would be considered

Thompson just confirmed on Friday that his teams are talking to the AAC. It’s Sunday.
We obviously won’t get a formal announcement until a Tuesday.

Thompson just confirmed on Friday that his teams are talking to the AAC. It’s Sunday.
We obviously won’t get a formal announcement until a Tuesday.

It really would be a million times better. Always wondered why they didn’t do that sooner.

UL is typically used to refer to the University of Louisville.

Wrong. Again. Louisville is more commonly known as as U of L.

Plus there are a lot of moving parts. So until formal announcement process all we can count on are leaks in the media.
Personally, I think BSU not coming is a positive sign for the AFA/CSU. A lot of members over there are sick of them. Maybe SDSU thinks BSU will bring them along to the Big12, but that's a big risk to take especially if Aresco pivots to Nevada. Go AAC!!
