CAA MBB Transfers 2021
Charleston Soph Guard Brenden Tucker is in the portal
6'2 guard has started most of his 2 years at CofC and averaged around 10ppg this past season
Looks like a complete rebuild is coming to Charleston once they settle on a coach

Am I correct in believing that, as of now, there are no Tribe players in the portal and hence no open spots available?

You are correct. The assumption is, that since the coaches are contacting some Class of 21 recruits as well as some transfers, that perhaps they are aware of a transfer/s that haven't been announced. Or, it could be keeping options open just in case there are surprises.

Another possible Dane Fischer/ GMU connection- GMU Sr guard Javon Green in the portal. Played heavy minutes all 4 years and averaged 11ppg this season.

I’m straining the recruiting memory though the name Gabe Madsen jumped out to me. Wasn’t he part of two brothers, maybe twins, where at one point, we were in solid sitting with one of them but he wanted to follow the other?

The Madsen Brothers were both one of the 1st offers put out by the new staff (May 2019) . The brothers and family visited campus. They hail from Rochester, Minnesota which is Dane Fischer's hometown. Gabe was more touted, but we were hot for both of them. I was pretty shocked at the time that they chose Cincinnati. Seemed an odd fit.

Believe I saw he was a sports management major at the Citadel. Is that avenue encompassed in the business school? We need Bryce to reach out to him. I think he was on a similar sports management or marketing focus.

Recent article from: https://www.postbulletin.com/sports/6936...-transfer:

"Gabe Madsen, a 6-foot-5 guard, was a three-star recruit out of Mayo. He played in two games at the start of the season for the Bearcats before opting out the rest of the year. In those two games, he averaged 1.5 points and 1.0 rebounds per game.

After Madsen left the team he stayed in school at Cincinnati -- which did not have in-person classes -- but he also embarked on a journey across the country for several months with one of his friends.

The Madsen twins played one season of high school varsity basketball in Wisconsin when they were freshmen. They moved to Rochester when their father, Luke, was named the Mayo boys basketball coach and they played three varsity seasons with the Spartans. Both the Madsen twins scored more than 2,000 points in their varsity careers."

CAA MBB Transfers 2021
Boston University Jr F Jack Hemphill has entered the portal. He held Tribe offer coming out of HS (old staff). A return to a school closer to his NC home seems probable.

Chris Shelton followed WMTribeMBB last night. Coach Kemp followed Shelton back when he first came on staff a couple summers ago. Shelton shot almost 50% from three this year.

Coaches getting fired and student/athletes entering the transfer portal from the these schools and then coaches from other programs Twittering all around reminds me of the nature shows where the hyenas and buzzards fight over scraps from a carcass. 04-jawdrop

Of course if the Tribe picks up big man, point guard and a wing player who is lights out from 3, then I am perfectly fine for how the ecosystem functions.04-cheers
