I like that rule.
You have to be careful, though. You might realize you like someone and then find out later that they're one of THE OTHERS...
Except, in my experience and opinion most on the right don't really have a problem if someone they're hanging out with is a lefty. Many of my best friends over many years were left of center, a few what one could call "flaming liberals". His folks were missionaries and he grew up in communes and places like that in the 60's and 70's in Central America. We chide each other, LOT's of eye-rolling, but not once a cross word or anger. It can be done.
These cancel culture lunatics? Well, they're the ones looking for a fight.
Yeah...I hope it's clear I was kidding with my statement. I actually think most folks on both "sides" are glad to see the people in front of them for who they are rather than their political views. Sometimes people just can't help but let their egos get in the way, though.

Aw, shucks.
Funny, my daughter-in-law just posted a few days ago that "After all this, you are STILL a supporter of Trump, please drop a comment below so I can unfriend you."
I saved here the trouble and unfriended her without comment, but I just wanted to let you know, that attitude isn't reserved for one side or the other.

We don’t ever talk religion but I have 3 or 4 neighbors that I’ll discuss politics with if we’re talking outside and it comes to that. The Confederate flag hanging in my garage doesn’t offend them and their Trump and Gadsden flags in their garages don’t offend me. So everyone is happy, no one is offended, everyone gets along. Heck, 1 of my neighbors moved here from upstate NY and he’s pretty far right. At first he was a little worried back in the summer when there were the rumors that the hood rats were gonna bring their riots and protests to the suburbs. Told him not to worry about that. He says “I like you southerners. If someone is snooping around your home or vehicle, you shoot 1st and ask questions later”.

That's because I95 runs from Canada on down. A lot of the crazies in Florida are just transplants from New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

Protests are fine. Violence is not.
What about violent protests?
We have those aplenty all summer in cities all over the US.

You can't reason with them. They see the cities burning down and CNN standing in front of them saying "mostly peaceful" and they believe it. It is the height of childish stupidity.

Moronic. The gas stations around me have raised their gas prices $.30 in one day frequently for the last 10 years or more. Then it gradually goes down and they raise it back up another $.30.
Presidents do next to nothing to effect the price of gas...it's based on a global supply and demand market and speculation.
Jimmy Carter endorses this post.
You are literally an idiot.
Let's go back to buying all our oil from the arabs.
I miss $4 gallon gas.

Yep, me too and for nostalgia's sake I'm looking for a President Carter bobble head to place on my dashboard to make it more real.
I'm glad I'm retired and really don't need the car that badly.
Heck, I live in EP and if I didn't get along with "them" I wouldn't have anyone to talk to...80% of them to be sure. Even my SIL is a bonafide crazy, Orourke supporter and I even let her into my home. As a matter of fact she fixed enchiladas for my wife and me. They were deeeelicious...I hope we weren't poisoned. LOL

All these people know is what CNN tells them. They're too lazy and/or stupid to actually open their eyes and see the truth all out there.

I cut back on visiting a different political board because half of the leftists have become frothing at the mouth rabid dogs filled with hatred and the other half (other than a couple) have degenerated into the lowest form of NPC.

Or maybe they unfriended you because you kept your silence for the past year as your side rioted and looted in cities and towns across America in the name of a Marxist organization whose true purpose is to take down our society. Maybe they unfriended you because of the rank hypocrisy you've displayed by having such a meltdown over a singular event when it was the other side doing it. And guess what? It wasn't just those on the right, antifa was there and likely started the violence.
You used to be pretty cool, these days you're simply the female version of commie tom.

I've noticed a ten-fold increase in the number of Biden*/Harris bumper stickers and yard signs since the election.

Show me where I have ever condoned the riots & violence from this summer, please. In fact, I have said on this forum multiple times that it wasn't right, but I can't say I'm surprised you've ignored that.
That said, comparing tearing up a Target to attempting to forcefully hinder the completion of US law by storming the Capitol and attempting to harm elected officials is a non-starter. It's simply another level entirely. Sedition vs. vandalism & theft.
Please show us where you've condemned it. I'm here a lot and I've never seen you condemn BLM or antifa one time.
And there you go with that Target bullshite again as if you can minimize and condense the lefts actions down to one event. You are conveniently ignoring numerous attacks on federal facilities resulting in injuries and even death at the hands of your sides violent mobs. Why is that? Don't answer, we already know why. Such hypocrisy, I thought you were better than that...
