Discussion: what change have you seen since the election in your person life? - Was SoMs Eagle - 01-13-2021 02:07 PM

I purchased gas at Sam’s for $1.51 three weeks ago. It’s $1.91 today. An increase of $.40 a gallon in three weeks. I expect the climb will be the so called hockey stick. So much for giving a chit about the little guy.

The housing market is going crazy right now. We've had 2 Antifa families and one MS-13 couple move in to our neighborhood. My suburban housewife is a bit nervous.

I had 4-5 people I know from HS days "unfriend" me on social media last week because I said if they were supporting the violence (not just the protest - the violence) happening at the Capitol, they were part of the problem.

Aw, shucks.

But the riots all summer are ok, right?

Show me where I have ever condoned the riots & violence from this summer, please. In fact, I have said on this forum multiple times that it wasn't right, but I can't say I'm surprised you've ignored that.

That said, comparing tearing up a Target to attempting to forcefully hinder the completion of US law by storming the Capitol and attempting to harm elected officials is a non-starter. It's simply another level entirely. Sedition vs. vandalism & theft.

The first thing that popped in my head is gas prices. Over $0.30 per gallon increase since the election. No such thing as coincidences.

I lost a couple of friends on Facebook because I am a Republica, a Trump supporter and it was my fault that people stormed the capitol...

Do yourself a favor and get off of FB, if you are using your real name.

Protests are fine. Violence is not.

How about destroying police precincts (burning some knowing people were inside), burning city court houses and state buildings. Destroying police cars and targeting and killing police officers? Killing an individual because he’s a Trump supporter? Attempting to kill Republican senators/ congressmen while playing softball? Performing a play in Central Park depicting the murder of the President? Circulating a choreographed picture of the President’s severed head being held by a liberal comedian? Madonna saying she has thought about blowing up the White House? Johnny Depp asking when was the last an actor assasinated the President? A congresswoman telling people to get in the faces of Trump supporters and tell them they’re no longer welcome? I could go on. Are those game changers for you?
And to think that those Capital protesters were solely Trump supporters is simply wrong.
During the 2016 campaign, liberal trouble makers were paid to go to Trump rallies and start fights. You don’t think the same thing happened on the 6th?
Come on.

People getting into the housing market fearing rising rates in the months ahead is what l was asking. Losing friends on social media is not. This is kind of my point here. Some are going to be so caught up in the BS to not notice the water in the pot getting hotter.

Protests are fine. Violence is not.

So 200,000 showed up to protest and maybe a 100 got violent so impeach Trump. This will not end well on the path the socialist-democrats are taking us down.

Boy that was a strongly worded non-committal answer

This thread didn’t progress in the direction I thought it would....

To be fair, the election has not resulted in the passage of a single change in law that would have negatively affected anyone....yet. Any changes anyone might ascribe as fall out from the election would largely be due to people and companies preparing for perceived changes to come.
