**** this conference if its willing to throw a team under the bus to ensure the success of another member. If this were "app state" at stake for a NY6 bowl, but they ****** over GaSo to do so, you'd be done with the conference too, and you and everyone else knows it.
So...do you want FCS, independent, or CUSA? At the end of the day, the CFP already marked yall as done, win or lose against Coastal. That loss early in the year unfortunately sealed your fate. You were bowling just like us in our contractual bowls from that point forward. I do think y’all are a good team this year, but Coastal is obviously the story of the conference this year.
And now they get to play UAB in the day after Christmas bowl

As I watched this game tonight you know that that overrated Tulsa team reminded me of? Laughayette! A one trick pony running offense with a decent defense. The sad thing is, I think that the top 2 teams in the conference (Coastal and App) could beat both of those teams tonight.
Nothing more satisfying that watching the dodgeball champions come up... short... of that NY6.

Maybe y’all ought to worry more about rooting for your own team to beat who is in front of them when they have the chance.
Or, rooting for our League Office to get things right.
But we’re flattered y’all spend so much time on, well to be correct, under... us. Enjoy your bowl for teams with only 1 loss. I’m sure it’ll be way more groovy than the bowl for teams with 2 losses would’ve been. Lol, y’all could’ve had to come back to Myrtle Beach again. Who knows, might’ve been the first time this year you left with a win. You’re welcome.

If UAB and Coastal meet in the Cure Bowl, I’ll be the first to say the Chants deserve better than a 6-3 opponent. The whole thing is just skewed against the G5.

They should figure out a way to match Coastal with San Jose State.

the committee has already marked us as outsiders. That’s what happened to UL and unfortunately win or lose against Coastal, it was already a done deal. It was a 3 way race between Cincy, Coastal, and Tulsa. It wasn’t known at the time, but that loss early in the year unfortunately sealed your fate. You were bowling just like us in our contractual bowls from that point forward.
I don’t understand how anyone with any type of understanding of how the NY6 selection criteria works could make such a statement. I’ll explain.
The NY6 bowls have to select the highest ranked G5 champion. If UL (19) and Tulsa (23) were to have both won their CCG’s vs CC (12) and Cincinnati (9), then the NY6 selection was between Tulsa and UL only. To honestly believe what you said, then you have to believe that Tulsa’s win over the #9 ranked team would have made up a 4 spot gap over UL’s win vs the #12 ranked team. Highly doubtful that was going to happen. It would have taken like a 56-10 game in Tulsa’s favor to justify jumping them over the Cajuns in this hypothetical scenario.

Agree. If Tulsa won they would have taken the Sun Belt champion, or Coastal if they didn’t play. Coastal knew this.

I am bitter towards Coastal but that is my own issue with App getting screwed last year when we “deserved” a better bowl/opponent. Seems the conference is bending over backwards for coastal but didn’t last year for App.

That's not how this works. It is the obligation of the playoff committee to accept the highest ranked team as the champion of that league in the absence of a title game.
Barring making the Chants forfeit, which would have left the league destroyed by the media, this was the only solution.
You can be mad at Coastal if you want, but the Sun Belt has little to do with this one.

The conference couldn't have made Coastal forfeit. They had previously worked out the process in case the CCG was cancelled due to COVID protocols and the ADs approved.

Correct, the procedure for this was agreed to by every League Athletic Department prior to the season.
Is it fishy that after going all year without an outbreak the Chants cancel a game after a couple positive tests? Sure, but Cincy pretty much did the same thing last week.
