RE: Rockets Face Undefeated Marshall on Wednesday
Marshall's coach in his post game intimated that he had some players falling off the team concept. He felt that was the major difference, while being very complimentary to Toledo.
Takes a patience I will never have to let a player jack like Coach K does. Perhaps on the theory that's the only way to get them out of a shooting slump? MJ had the mother of all slumps going on during regulation. Hope it's done for his sake. That HAS to weigh on a player particularly when you're expected to lead.

Didn't watch or listen to the game - and actually forgot all about it until just now. Figured that was going to be a ugly loss of around 15 points - or more. Shocked to see the final score, then to see it was in OT, then to see we blew a 10 point lead with 4 mins. to go. Then I realized it was another typical Toledo game when we tried to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The fact that it was still a win is encouraging. I like this team, but would like it's chances a lot more if we had a post player/shot blocker in the middle - like the one we lost to injury. Looked at the stats and it showed Marshall having 10 blocks. Toledo with just 1. And we won. Amazing.

Unfortunately, our only true shot blocker will not be back this season so the coaching staff has had to adapt and it looks like with the make up of the roster they decided their best chance for success is playing a smaller lineup. We have 4 really good perimeter players (Jackson, Rollins, Littleson & Saunders) along with an excellent forward in Milner. If we can get quality and consistent production out of Acunzo and Shumate, this smaller lineup has the potential to cause problems for opponents who have to defend it.
