After attending the game on Friday I have decided to no longer support the University from a monetary standpoint.
We were treated with total disrespect by a Mr Jasper Fell upon our arrival. We have rented the deck in the past with no problems but apparently Mr Fell is the new owner of the ticket office based on his comments, "...my ticket office." Well he can have it. The attitude he displayed to us and the atmosphere he created was disgusting to say the least and put a damper on our evening. According to him we should have checked with him before we did anything. I had no idea he even existed but he played the victim saying we disrespected him. His entourage was impressed with his attitude towards us. Not surprising when he left in the third inning. At least we didn't have him staring at us through the window for whatever reason. He left several of us uneasy.
When we have rented the deck in the past it was for our exclusive use but apparently not anymore. Mr Fell knew we had rented the deck but allowed others to already be on the deck when we arrived. While we never said anything because of his attitude it was agreed we could have just bought tickets and used the deck like the 10 or so others who came up there to sit with us and saved about $60.
I dropped both football and basketball tickets because of the atmosphere that the University has created. Now baseball is no different. Sad.
I've been a fan of the University since 1975 when I was 15 and worked full time while putting myself through school. To be in a position to donate to the school now that I am retired is something I had panned to do but now I plan to find another charity to include in my will. And it was not just the incident that took place Friday but the overall direction the University is headed.
Best of luck because you'll need it.
That dude got into it with us when an esteemed poster here rented the deck in April. He was a huge a-hole.
