I honestly don't want to derail the Coastal recognition any more than necessary. But based on the events of the summer, Liberty is making a pretty strong pivot right now away from politics back toward our original mission of training Champions for Christ. Junior and all his baggage is gone with him. No one knows what the educational landscape will look like post-pandemic. But we feel good about how our university is positioned for the future.
It will be interesting to see how both Coastal and Liberty respond to having all of this recent attention. Obviously we won't be sneaking up on VT and NC State in the coming weeks. And suddenly the Chants have become a prized opponent to be taken down by the rest of the SBC. The next month or so should be fun.
He is a 247 3 star. It's not Herschel Walker. LOL

Most of us are on a similar page as SlyFox, not the other guy, to be clear. Do we sometimes dream of being highly regarded? Absolutely. But most of us also realize that we have a long way to go, particularly after all the damage Jr. did.
Also, this comment by panama seems ill-placed. The people freaking out about him being so great were the original braggy guy, & everyone talking about how we obviously have to have cheated to get him. SlyFox's approach here actually seems pretty balanced, & frankly, Liberty only became the center of attention on this board originally when a Coastal guy got offended by Liberty people cheering on Coastal.
If you rewatch this ESPN 300 guy's videos, it's pretty clear he's got his faith on his mind as part of his decision-making process, & he did use flames when lifting up 6 teams' logos, but kept emphasizing the number 7. The 7th team represented was Liberty with the flames everywhere.
Are we excited for him to join? Yes. Are most of us looking to act like Coastal is nothing because we got him? No. But there are always folks who have to be jack-o-lanterns, unfortunately.
To get back on track with where this board should be: Congrats to Coastal on where you guys are at in the rankings. We hope to somehow meet at the end of the season with us both undefeated, fighting for bragging rights. In the meantime, most of us will cheer you guys on to victory, until that game.
