They haven't looked very good in their first two games.

Congrats Marshall. I felt all week this game could end like this after they way you guys started the season, and APP with a new coach. Best of luck the rest of the way.

App may have kept Drinkwitz playback but they sure haven't been able to use it the same way. This is a return to 2014, it seems, where the offense was trying to get things figured out for a while. There is no flow, a lot of play calls against a Cover 2 or 3 defense didn't make sense.

Marshall had a bye week, App is on Week 2 with a new coordinator on offense, for the third year in a row. Sutton is missing and that breakaway speed and/or power that Cox/Moore/Evans had is gone.

Things should get better as the year goes along but right now it seems like the coaching staff is trying to figure it out.

Marshall was the better team offensively and App made mistakes they couldn't overcome.

Hard to say who is the best right now. Sun Belt is going to be tough in conference, can't afford to lose out of conference if you want a look at the NY6. App is done for that but obviously some things need to be worked out before conference play starts.

Don't like the offense I've seen so far though, especially as good as App's defense has been. Last year, unless it was similar to the Louisiana game, the game wouldn't have been close.

Not that I am a fan of kicking a guy when he’s down... he’s a kid. Kids do stupid things. He’s a great player and he will learn from this.

What about the kicker who missed the FG? There is plenty of blame to go around. Win as a team, and lose as a team? The blame does NOT sit on that kid’s shoulders. Why doesn’t App try to schedule more games with Marshall? From what I’ve been reading after the game, really great fans that aren’t total a**holes and it’s a great regional matchup with clearly a quality opponent

ESPN doesn’t go back beyond 2002 for schedules, so it’s before that.

Agree, that poor kid felt bad enough. I honestly thought it was low class of CBS to keep zooming in on him after that. Like WTH man, it was a turnover, just leave it alone.

So happy to have App State back in Huntington. It’s nice to be involved with a team with an actual fanbase. Under normal circumstances there would have been a crowd of 35K there yesterday, and I’m sure App would usually bring at least 3k to a game like that.

Starting TE who is a big key to the blocking scheme was out yesterday. Starting TB from Charlotte game did not play. Starting WR Jalyn Vergil was injured on the KO return to start 2nd half and did not return. Finished the game playing two RS freshman at WR (along with Hennigan & Williams). IMO it's more likely issues getting comfortable with the 3rd offensive coordinator in 3 years with restricted practice time. Defensively we have new 3 LB's, 2 DL and both safeties, but overall I think the defense is playing well enough to win games. I was more concerned with the lack of a vertical passing game. Most everything was to the boundaries and quick slants. Of the few times we did go down the field we scored a TD, just missed another and had that ball punched out from behind. Things need to be fixes, but no time to hit the panic button.

Thanks and believe me we are just as happy to be back. For some reason the tickets weren't released for sale until he first of last week. Looking forward to the games to come when the stadiums will be rocking.
