RE: Netflix issues bizarre apology after sexualizing 11-year-olds
I'm not one to shy away from controversial films (Call Me By Your Name is my favorite movie) and I'm glad Netflix wanted to shine a light on these dance groups which make girls into 'strippers in training' but I just don't like HOW they did it.

Ted Cruz has asked the DOJ to investigate Netflix.

I've noticed that an awful lot of Netflix movies have promos & descriptions that make them look like sci-fi or fantasy, but the actual content is a mix of sci-fi with a 1990s softcore porn. And sometimes not-so-softcore.

And the plots are only slightly less formulaic than a Jackie Treehorn movie.

Hopefully it’s just a false flag to gather data on all the perverts who stream it on Netflix so the feds can show up, waltz in and find thousands of kiddie porn files on their hard drives.

I canceled it. No second guessing since.

FWIW - The picture Netflix used is basically a screen grab of the movie. Those are the actual costumes they wear for the final dance performance. And the dance they do at the end, is WAY worse than anything conveyed by that promo. I was shocked that the film was directed by a woman with the tight screen shots she uses on kids.

That being said, if you've ever seen dance moms...or watched any cheer or dance teams at your local high school, you'll see basically the same thing...inappropriate sexualized dancing. I'd never let my daughter participate in anything like what they do.

But reading the comments from the director, I sort of get it. Like it or not, many young girls are drawn to this and seem to have no problem participating in it. However, at the end of the movie, the main character freezes during the last performance and starts crying. She then runs off stage and goes back and embraces her family.

Lastly, the posts here claiming Biden is a pedophile or that only democrats are is just as ******* disgusting as this film, and if you had any shame, you'd be ashamed. Pathetic.
I appreciate your view and disgust of the movie, but the bolded part is where you have lost touch. It is not the girls that get into this. They know nothing about it. It is the crazy "Dance Moms". Similar to crazy "pageant moms". They are the ones that have missed something in their lives to make their pre-pubescent daughters dress, act and move like an adult on stage. I also blame the pchickenshit dads that let it happen. Grow a pair and tell your wife your daughter isn't going on stage looking like a "Fly Girl".

I said "many" not all. There are undoubtedly "some" young girls who take no issue with this...at least in the filmmakers view based on her comments as she watched these types of contests in her personal life. And no, I don't think we should be silencing people's personal views...whether they are right or wrong. They should be allowed them and then we're free to judge what we want to view.

And cancel Netflix all you want. Pretty sure pedophiles have no shortage of material with the way our society uses sex to sell...pretty much everything.

RE: Netflix issues bizarre apology after sexualizing 11-year-olds
This schidt is all a really slippery slope - This does come down to parenting (or lack thereof).

My daughter did gymnastics for about 7 years and those Gymnastic Moms were fkin loons. Most of them were dancers or gymnasts themselves and they were no living vicariously through their kids. Cut Throat is a kind way to look at it.

I supported the hell out of my kid but if she didn't get a good "score" I did not come down on her - it is not like she tried to get a bad score.... these moms would pull their kid to the side and lay into them like Bobby Knight on a bad day..... To me that stuff is a form of Child abuse. These girls are so ingrained to please Mommy that they will do anything to gain that approval and that leads to the schidt like this dumb movie portrays...
