BYU can contact CUSA and the AAC for games they lost to the P5 conferences.

Just hope we can all get 2 OOC games.

If you can't get any OOC games play the 3 AAC teams your not matched up against on the AAC schedule if you can. Of course that depends on their availability too. There will also be 14 CUSA schools looking for additional games after their 8 game conference schedule comes out.

I thought I read that BYU contacted the Big XII about replacing games lost? Did you guys see that? UH already has a game with them at BYU on October 16th.

BYU is close to cutting a deal with Oklahoma State to play in Stillwater as a season opener for both teams, to replace Oregon State (OSU) and Utah (BYU). In this morning's Tulsa World. IF B12 goes 9 + 1, doubt if it happens, OSU is pushing for a full 12 game schedule.

Rumour mill is 9+1 or 9+2 to be decided today. OSU and Texas want full season. OU is like whatever some schools only want conference games.

I assume that the AAC has a conference testing protocol; but when you play OOC games, shouldn't they be restricted to teams who follow similar or more stringent protocols?

If I were calling the shots for our conference in this cluster of a year I'd wait until the majority of our OOC P5's are officially cancelled securing the buyout money then announce conference only. ACC & Big 12 both mandated that their 1 allotted OOC be a 1 and done buy game we shouldn't entertain that. They can get it from the dregs of the FBS or FCS.
Frankly I'm good with a 10 game conf only schedule for this year if the other option is to get bent over a barrel. UCF would be adding Navy & SMU, sounds pretty solid to me!

The American might not be Power Five, but if Tulane can't play Power Five teams this year then I'd rather play 10 AAC + Army + FCS tuneup. The Army game would give us a bit of a test as they did last year - but if we have anything at QB we notch 2 early wins and can scramble together a little bit more program momentum.

Tulane plays Army. If that won't move, then neither will Army/Navy game.
