Tulane is at 12 scheduled close road games and likely W’s against South Alabama (openeing their new stadium and 1,000 tickets for us) and against USM ( this will negate $300,000 we were going to have to pay them). Also puts Tulane in a solid spot to finish the season with 8-9 wins

Longhorns are playing UTEP for their +1. All of the local insiders here in Austin say it's a done deal, just hasnt been announced yet.

I think it's all about to get shoved to spring semester.

Do you think BYU will support this? October 17 is open for Rice. If BYU reschedules to September, the game might happen.

The optics of that September 3 game were starting to be worrisome. Even though UH was limiting attendance to 25%, that was still 10,000 Houstonians in one place in just three weeks. Houston might finally be turning the Covid corner. Do you think this action was brokered by Mayor Turner and Judge Hidalgo?

I haven't heard that they have officially cancelled. You are right, now SMU has lost 2 home games and is down to 10 games total.

Tulane opener with FCS Southand Conference foe SELA has apparently been cancelled. Tulane AD is supposedly looking for a replacement.

Some of the schedule shake-ups we are seeing could have been avoided if the AAC had chosen to play a 10-game conference-only schedule. I wonder if that would not have been the wiser choice. That way, you only have to depend on your conference mates playing, rather than being at the mercy of some other conference which chooses to "chicken-out" and cancel football.

Might end up being that yet. Russian roulette continually going on with games, schools, and conferences.

The remaining OOC games SMU has are with C-USA and SBC opponents. Texas State and North Texas. Maybe we can replace TCU but it is doubtful at this point.
