ACC & Big 12 both mandated that their 1 allotted OOC be a 1 and done buy game we shouldn't entertain that. They can get it from the dregs of the FBS or FCS.
Frankly I'm good with a 10 game conf only schedule for this year if the other option is to get bent over a barrel. UCF would be adding Navy & SMU, sounds pretty solid to me! 02-13-banana02-13-banana02-13-banana

Just thought of something else on this. Announce that the AAC will only allow our schools to schedule new away games this year if it includes a return trip.

The P5 buy games would be in basically empty stadiums, right? In that situation, why not one-and-dones?

RE: American Football to play 8 conference games and allow up to 4 OOC games
FOOTBALL
In football, the plan calls for conference competition to begin Sept. 19 and for each of The American's teams to play eight conference games on their originally scheduled dates. Nonconference games may be played at the discretion of the individual schools, with the understanding that the opponents will strictly adhere to protocols and standards for testing, pregame, in-game and postgame operations set by The American's Medical Advisory Group. Depending on the need to potentially reschedule regular-season games, The American Football Championship will be played on either Dec. 5, 12 or 19 at the stadium of the regular-season champion. A decision regarding the date of the championship game will be made no earlier than Nov. 1.

So, how many of the sunbelt, cusa, and MAC teams are going to be able to meet that requirement? A few MWC teams will probably struggle. AAC athletic budgets are mid level/tweener but some of those schools are on show string budgets. That sounds like a perfect legal reason to cancel games and reschedule p5/Army/Air Force/BYU games.

I saw the Pony AD is playing gotcha with TCU, wonder if the public pressure makes them flip.

Absolutely would love to play Memphis. I didn't think you had availability.

IMO, UCF, SMU and Temple are the most likely.

GT game is likely going to be saved, UNC hasn’t been officially cancelled yet(Could potentially play @UNC) also FAMU potentially going independent and still playing this fall.

Door is not shut on Notre Dame Navy.
ND could request an exemption from the ACC to go visit one of the three safest schools COVID-wise in order to maintain the longest continuous intersectional rivalry in college football; or we could get the Colts' stadium in Indianapolis; or we could go to South Bend with juggling of home-away rotation.
We'll see...

DW did a presser today, when asked he said that we will not go to UNC, we're waiting on the ACC schools to announce their schedules and let us know what the status of the GT & UNC games are. We'll have 7 home games this year as originally planned.

OSU and Tulsa will happen, it has a sponsor and is a rivalry game.

Not a problem... The marlins are done due to COVID (???) in MLB after one series (Philadelphia), the Hurricanes will be done after their first game... PIN IT.

Also Big 12 & ACC teams will keep one of their existing OOC games (if they have any left) to minimize buy outs. I would be shocked to see a team buy out a game to give it to BYU.

I don't even think the season will ever start. There is a reason why conferences are waiting until September 26th to start play.
