RE: Declassify UFO data?
It is possible these UFO's are not aliens at all. They could be a creature that has been on this earth longer than us and more technologically advanced. They live in the oceans. We have only explored 10% of the ocean and only the surface. Who knows what is under the ocean floor.

This is the point that Steven Hawking made and I agree with him. Maybe we shouldn’t be so cavalier in broadcasting our existence out into the cosmos. If there is an alien civilization that has the ability to reach Earth then we had better pray they are peaceful because there is no Independence Day type outcome for us. We would be wiped out.

We are in a "Goldilocks zone". Just the right distance from our Sun for liquid water and life to exist and the ONLY one in our solar system. Hawking saw this as a no brainer.

It’s estimated that as many as 20% of the 2 x 10 to the 22nd power of stars in the universe have planets orbiting them within the Goldilocks Zone. That’s akin to 2,000 stars with planets in the habitable zone for each and every grain of sand on the entire earth (poof...mind blown).

Interesting article that focuses not just on distance, but on time. When people discuss potential alien civilizations they fail to discuss it in terms of time. Humans have had the technology to make detectable technological noise for perhaps 125 years or so. The universe is 13 billion years old. Our corner of it is about 4.5 billion years old. The numbers of times things like us have come and gone could be astronomically high (no pun intended).

our universe as we understand defining astrophysics is expansion vs contraction....

therefore, it's hardly unreasonable to argue many versions of life have come and gone before 'our turn' came up to the plate from the on deck circle....

The gaps of space in between are so mind numbingly impossible to traverse. Likely even for galaxies that were created a billion years before our own. It’s likely the universe is/has been/will be teeming with life at differing points of billions of years so that it misses one another...in addition to time, it just may be so impossibly far apart to ever cross paths or even detect one another as to seem a solitary event at each end.

The Fermi Paradox and the Great Filter are brilliant to explore. As is the Drake Equation.

I think most people's assumptions on the probabilities in the Drake Equation are way too high. And then there is the Zager and Evans factor:

Then you also have Harry Reid on record more or less corroborating that we have some kind of thing that isn't of the Earth....you still question?

The same God that created a universe on the order of magnitude of this one - even just the parts we actually can see - can't then also create other beings?

Do some DMT or a giant dose of mushrooms and you'll never look at the God you think you know the same way ever again.

Yup. We can’t build anything that can rise and fall like that—certainly not within a thick atmosphere.

It’s just us. Mmm hmm.

Oh the irony of these type arguments.

Ever looked up the math on the chances the universe just spontaneously created itself from total nothingness?

Just consider your laptop or phone. You could wait a gazillion, gazillion, gazillion years to the 100th power and it would never just spontaneously create and program itself. There is not a sane person in the world who would look at your laptop or computer and say it could created itself.

Yet the universe is INFINITELY more complex and finely tuned, even a single strand of human DNA is infinitely more complex and fine tuned. Yet science maintains that it all created, programed and finely tuned itself from total nothingness for no reason at all. Mmm hmm.

So the universe needs something to create it, but that something wouldnt need anything to create IT?

Makes tons of sense.

Ahhh, so the universe can create itself but God needs a creator? I don't think you thought that one through.

The Bible does not claim God was created, it says He is eternal without a beginning or end and outside of time and the physical universe.

You are trying to escape down a rabbit hole to run and hide from the fact that the universe Was OBVIOUSLY designed by a Creator.

I respect your devotion and faith. We worship the same God. I still think you are likely batshit crazy. Deep down, you probably suspect it too.

Some people are easily influenced no matter what concept they choose to cling to. I generally find the zeal is more about convincing themselves of what they believe as opposed to convincing others. FFS, In his secular days he thought shows like X-files were meant to condition us to accept that aliens visiting the earth is a real and common event...LOL

More likely than not life has began and ended on other planets throughout the universe as soon as the first planets became hospitable to life. Most likely we will never cross paths due to distances and timing. Eventually we’ll go extinct before we ever possibly figure out interstellar travel. JMHO.

That's a pretty safe bet. Right now humanity is a pack of Chimps who have discovered a train wreck of box cars carrying grenades. Our Technology has outpaced our ability to understand the implications of it. Since we have opposable thumbs it's only a matter of time before we start pulling the pins.

A lot of people shared their views here, but my biblical view somehow triggered you both into petty insults and personal attacks.

Not a good look for either of you.

The idea that we were being programed and prepped to be told about aliens was an extremely common view back in the 1990's. If you weren't in such a hurry to try and say something insulting you might have realized that.

I'm of the belief that IF aliens could navigate space and time to come here, they are already here doing what they want to be doing.
