Proposed TN riot law
Get arrested looting/ vandalizing - required 12 hours in jail upon arrest, minimum 30 days in jail and restitution payments. It’s a good start, but make the jail time so that it’s a deterrent.

Just an FYI regarding party strength in TN...

Governor: Bill Lee - R
State Senate: R 28, D 5 (84.8% SM)
State House: R 73, D 26 (73.7% SM)

SM - A super majority is more than two-thirds the total seats.
Senate SM = 22+1
House SM = 66+1

The TN General Assembly is firmly in the control of the GOP. They have veto-proof majorities and should be able to pass anything they want.

And for that, we are so thankful! F all the Memphis and Nashville Democrats

A couple of points here...

1. Even with super-majorities, the GOP refuses to do certain things which are needed. For example, they refuse to change our public education systems. They could mandate that social justice/pc issues are to be removed from schools, be it primary, secondary, or collegiate.

2. As a Memphian I'm aware of the serious financial issues facing city government. Interestingly, the financial woes of Nashville are much more dire than those of Memphis.
