As of now, blaming the ACC instead of calling the Domers cowards and fools.

Whatever.
It is only reasonable to expect that:
1) Had Notre Dame said that they intended to honor the pre-existing contract with Navy...come hell-or-high water...the ACC would have granted an exception, especially BECAUSE the Midshipmen are already quarantined and the Academy can actually ENFORCE that quarantine.
2) Had Notre Dame really WANTED the Navy game, they could have thrown some sort of really juicy package together to compensate the Naval Academy for playing at Notre Dame Stadium. I mean, really here...Notre Dame has the ability and resources to offer a package "you can't say "no" to."
3) Notre Dame DIDN'T do these things, instead, falling back onto honoring the Western Michigan game...which is now in jeopardy regardless.
Notre Dame gets to blame the ACC. The ACC will say, "Well, it was Notre Dame's call..." None of that helps Navy or the fans.
And Navy remains Notre Dame's lackey. You'll sit and drool until you get to go to South Bend next season...and wherever else Notre Dame wants you the year after that. Western Michigan got more respect from Notre Dame than Navy did. <<<gag!>>>
