Yes there are more issues besides race, if you haven't seen the video of the police killing Daniel Shaver then go watch that, it'll make your stomach turn... But it's nuts to think racism isn't a problem in police brutality. George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Eric Garner, Philando Castile, Walter Scott, Alton Sterling, Terence Crutcher, Freddie Gray just to name a handful... You're telling me you don't think any of them would still be alive if they were all white? I bet most of them would, if not all of them.
The most egregious case of police brutality I know of involved an Hispanic cop and a white, mentally ill and homeless man. His name was Kelly Thomas. I don't think you can prove a case of racism against the cop, but it is certainly murder, and I believe in the first degree.
Thomas was "suspected" of peeking into the windows of parked cars. I wasn't aware that that is a crime in any state of our beloved union. The officer confronted Thomas and forced him to sit on a curb, then rifled through his backpack. Finding nothing, he slowly donned surgical gloves and asked Thomas, "You see my fists? They're getting ready to f**k you up!"
The officer, Ramos, then proceeded to beat Thomas badly, who, fighting for his life, was told to "stop resisting," a phrase that you sometimes hear bad cops use when they want to mete out more punishment. Ramos called for help. Five more officers arrived to assist in "subduing" Kelly. They beat him to death while he was screaming in pain, begging for his life, saying he was sorry, and most heartbreaking of all, screaming for his dad: "Dad, help me! They're killing me, Dad!" Most of us here are fathers. How would you like to see video of your son being beaten to death while pleading for you to help him?
I am not posting this to gross anyone out. Warning: The video below is disturbing. I am posting it to prove that not only black people are the victims of police brutality. In fact, most victims of police brutality are white. But, don't let facts get in your way as you deepen the racial divide by imagining racism where there is none apparent (speaking of the Floyd case only right now). And, if you would like to see lots more videos of police brutality against white victims, look them up. There are tons. There are also tons of videos of police brutality against blacks. I imagine you can find many instances of police brutality against other races, as well. Most cases of police brutality are not racist incidents, just bad cops getting off on beating someone.
I am not going to post the video, only the link. There are many other cases....
