You can't take App's credit for giving HUD the knock out blow. HUD got fired in 2017 after his fifth straight loss to App State, the last one his final game 63-14. LA Tech played them mid-season 2015.

I know it is hard for the Sunbelt to understand what is like to play a P5 in a bowl game because it never happens for them

I think if you say "hey XYZ team from CUSA, we need you to go join the sun belt" The answer is a resounding no, and it's a perception thing, it doesn't matter that the belt has been better the last few years. I know that, you don't need to tell me.

I think if you say "Hey everybody, were blowing this thing up and creating two new conferences" you would get a lot more agreement.

It seems to me the western teams have far more issues with this than the eastern squads. Just throwing that out there. And FWIW, splitting into two leagues, and relegating some guys to FCS is probably the easiest way to do this unfortunately. I don't think we will be in limbo long. I'm not sure a lot of teams in our two leagues will be able to maintain 16 sports, similar to Central Michigan.

yeah being in a conference with UNCC would be nice, but honestly they need App more than App needs them.

If La Tech wants to continue passing up playing ULLLLLLLL to go play in Norfolk and Huntington, more power to them.

Sunbelt isn't perfect, but we make more CFP $$ and look to be a better football conference for the foreseeable future, and neither conference is getting an NCAA at large.

clt says Charlotte needs appy, just like appy needs a new shipment of soccer balls, tennis balls,and racquets.

This is my biggest issue with any proposed realignment. I would not want Charlotte to do anything that would hurt basketball. Right now, we have a very outside shot at an at large, but it is at least a shot. The Sun Belt flat out does not feature that. That's why if we regionalize, personally i would want Liberty to be considered (please don't turn this into another liberty thread, this is a basketball comment).

I would like to say that people can commit to improving hoops. We we first got back in this league playing with marshal basketball made me want to vom. They have really invested in the program and gotten much better.

It's okay for fans to have a pizzing match, especially on the Net. Doesn't amount to anything really. And, of course, I would rather have fans of my school pushing the envelope some...talking smack, thumping their chests. That beats fans posting, "man, my school sucks big time." Or worse, knowing that and not posting anything at all.

I think it's cool that we (Tech) have developed a "rivalry" of sorts with Appy State...and we have never played each other. That first meeting is bound to happen someday, should be interesting. As for me, I have nothing but respect for Appy's football program, and try to stay out of these pizzing constests. Carry on, all!

We were in Conference with Boise State for 12 years, #3 in AP playing in Ruston. Multiple BCS wins for Boise. That’s impressive. Appy State Yeah not so much
