RE: 2020 21 MBB Schedule Thread
UT normally schedules 30 games per season. I wonder if the +2 conference games will be an incremental increase or whether 2 non conference games that were in the works will now be dropped? Does anyone know?

The NCAA sets a cap on the total games that a team can play, so I assume non-conference games would be dropped.

Thanks Dwight.... I thought that might be the case. So now UT and all the other MAC teams have to get on the stick and potentially re- do already negotiated OOC games. Tough scenarios for AD’s. I guess they’re going to earn their money with this scenario.

Go Rockets!

the basketball and nonrevenue sports coaches do a lot of their own scheduling and many games are made only a one, two, three years in advance.

However, Football games are made many years (sometimes up to 10 years) in advance with the help of the AD.

RE: 2020 21 MBB Schedule Thread
teams get 29 games or 31 with an exempt tournament, which most programs take advantage of. UT typically has about half their OOC be longer term agreements, usually 2 home 2 away, they play an exempt tourney for 3 games, a couple home games against low major teams with no return game, 1 money game at a D1 power, and a non D1 home game. I think this year they have about 7 games as part of ongoing home and home agreements and a road game at MSU.
