This seems as big a stretch as the things he'd be rebelling against.
There are plenty of states with Conservative governments who have the power to make their own decisions. There are very few questionable Federal restrictions. If conservative states return to normal and liberal ones don't... and the economies of those conservative states improve while the liberal ones suffer, that would be exhibit #1 for any conservative running against those liberals.
I think this would actually be preferable to me (in terms of outcomes) than some sort of 'national' re-opening... where it might be impossible to tell the good decisions from the poor ones.
Honestly, I think one of the stupidest decisions we can make is a one size fits all approach to getting back to normal.
IMO, most of the country is likely already at the point of returning to closer to normalcy. Places like NYC, Detroit, etc. probably aren’t there yet.
Obviously, if different areas of the country choose how they are going to approach things, some will do it well while others don’t. Hopefully, those that suck will reap their appropriate reward at the polls next election.
Emergency orders that “non-essential businesses” remain closed during the Covid-19 crisis have devastated small business owners like salon owner Shelley Luther. She stood up for her right to open and then said she wouldn’t pay the fine she got from Dallas police officers.
This time with the citation that comes with a fine of up to $1,000. The owner says she plans to fight it and continue
operating.
________
It's happening all over.

He is a lot smarter than you. You get treated with kid gloves around here. Be thankful.
DavidSt, serious question. What did Stossel say in that video that offended you? Were his facts wrong, the questions he asked improper, or the conclusions he drew flawed? What did he say that was so objectionable to you that you oddly made a derogatory comment about him? Honestly interested in your response.

I agree.
It's also just plain silly that state governors don't realize that places within states should be opening up at different times. There's no reason that Buffalo's or Ithaca's reopening should be delayed until Manhattan is back to manageable levels.
As someone who lives in central Illinois, this is particularly frustrating. Cook County has completely different problems than us, yet we're lumped right in with them.

He never answers question. He said on the sports forum. CSA = Confederate States of America.

Would Cuba, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Dominican Republic and US Virgin Islands become part of Florida, and CSA bought the British Virgin Islands, Jamaica, Bermuda and the Bahamas from the European countries to be part of Florida?
